Reversing with trailor (transmission not engaging)

Hi, I was reversing a boat the other day and my parking auto engage kept me from being able to reverse. Quick manual didnt help. Trailer wire was not plugged in the rear. Was this the cause? Turned off parking sensor button but transmission still wouldnt engage when put in reverse. Any help?

Were the doors closed? My wife was trying to move our JT into the garage and it would not go into gear. I found her door (driver door) was not closed. Once we closed the door it went into gear just fine....

Did you have the door open looking back? There is a safety sensor not letting you drive over yourself if door is open or partially unlatched even.

Right, you have to CLOSE the door so it latches, it knows if it's not closed. It's a death prevention thing.

To keep Auto Park from engaging, the seat belt has to be connected and you have to keep your butt in the seat (weight sensor).
