Installed rock hard 4x4 rails. Theses are angled up version. They fit great. I did have to drill out two holes.
The finish is textured a little but still glossy .

What size tires are you running? Looks great with rails!

I love the Rock Hard angled up sliders. Just added 1" wide Shur Tape anti-skid to the tops of the outer rails. Doesn't get in the way when entering or exiting, but gives a secure grip for standing on the rail.

@1herm4 : I have the Ace Engineering rock sliders on my JTR and really like them.

One difference between those and the Rock Hard rock sliders is that the Ace Engineering sliders fit over (under?) rubi rails while the Rock Hard sliders replace rubi rails.

(btw... I also just got the Rock Hard rock sliders for a stray 07 JK X that recently wandered into my driveway and stayed. So I agree that they look great on @Demo_slug 's JT)

My JTR had rubi rails, while the JT X doesn't. So the two products fit a slightly different requirement.

But both products are functional... unlike some stuff that is out there,

So I ordered these exact ones. In talking to a fellow Gladiator owner he mentioned that the body bolts can shear off so he had them professionally installed. Have you guys heard of this? I can't imagine a body bold shearing n a vehicle with 2k on it.

Yes, do a search, has happened multiple times. Red Loctite is unforgiving.

Do not use an impact, use a 1/2" breaker bar, go slow, be ready for a workout.

Good to know. I don't have an impact at the house. I have to do things the old fashioned way.

I'm hearing that they used red loctite, but you can't use a torch due to the bushings.

There was red loctite on my JT, not a ton, but it was there. Got all of the body bolts off with a breaker bar, going slow, like @kevman65 said.

Also used the typical trick of tightening for a couple of turns when it got super tough. That tends to work the loctite out of the threads. Back and forth a couple of times helps a bunch.

Good to know. Wrangler forum suggests that you loosen them first.. If you break one you contact Jeep and say you found that one fell off while "inspecting the welds." Apparently they can and will warranty if you fight with them. I may call my dealer and see what the cost is to install. If it is $100 may be worth it to not spend hours fighting over a warranty issue. If they charge me $100 and bust a bolt, that is on them. Quite vexed to have bought a vehicle known for aftermarket parts and a dedicated group that customizes and find out that a simple job may become a nightmare.

Good luck on the dealer install. Quoted shop rate for my dealer is $185 an hour, minimum job is 4 hours to them.
