For those who want to keep their Rubicon rock rails and add steps I found an alternative made by Rampage - rock rail short steps part # 26410034.
Took me around 2 hours to install all 4 steps. You will need 1/4" drill bit, 3/16" drill bit, M8 tap, 8 pcs. 8mm nylon insert lock nuts. The rest of the locking hardware is included with steps.

That’s an interesting idea adding the steps right to the rails!
With the door shut - what is the measurement from the bottom gap to the top of the step.
(From the ground to the step would vary for those with different tire/wheel combos).

From the bottom of the door to top of the step the distance is 9 inches. From the bottom of the rock rail - 3 inches.

Really love this idea. I didn’t want to buy new steps/rails then sell the factory ones. Will this work with any step?? Can you give some more insight to the process??

EDIT: I just ordered these. Hope it wasn’t a mistake. Lol. Can you shoot me a PM or post here the steps you took to install them? Or did you just basically eyeball everything then drilled the holes??

The Lund/Rampage steps will work the best because they mount to bottom of the Rubicon rock rail, the other may mount to the frame.
You should get two c-clamps to temporarily mount each step in desired location and mark where you going to drill. First 1/4" hole will be tapped with M8 metric tap or equivalent of the bolts you want to use. Second hole is bigger to allow a bolt to be inserted from the top and secured with nylon lock nut which must be bought separately. Believe me, it's not that difficult.

They should be here on Monday, so if the rain holds off this will be my project after work.

Well, they came in today. I crawled up under the truck and I can’t figure out how you did it. Think I’m going to start calling around and find a welder. Love the setup, but I just can’t figure out how and where you mounted them. Lol

Looks good. I’m still interested in the M.O.R.E removable steps. My daughter was pissed at me today for having to climb up.

It says “coming soon” on the prior page, and there’s no provision to add them to a shopping cart, so probably not yet.
The website has been like that for awhile. I know because I obsessively check almost every day to see if anything's changed. I emailed Anthony at ROAM for a status update a few days ago but haven't heard back. Can't imagine the coronavirus situation is going to do anything but slow things down even further, for LoD as well. I'm currently driving without rails since I sold my stock Rubicon Rails to someone local who was looking for a set. That means I probably will postpone any trail runs until ROAM or LoD get their product available for purchase.

Anyone know of Aluminum options? On my wife's JKU we've gone through 3 steel ones due to rust. After one Ohio winter they pretty much rust out.

I'd really rather have AL for Rick tails and bumpers

The LOD step/slider will be aluminum, just wish they would work on getting them in production faster.
