Lol. But wouldn't that be fun. I'd love to have my old CJ built out with the stuff that is available today though.

Look, my point is just that the point of wheeling is to test yourself against the obstacles, terrain, etc. (IMHO) not to test Jeep's computr control systems. There was a thread on here of the Jeep Engineers testing the latest EV in MOAB and there was one shot where they were standing outside of the Grand Cherokee (I think is what I remember it was) controlling it with an iPad, walking alongside as it drove up an obstacle. Might as well stay home and send my car to Moab and let it drive around by itself. LOL
But why the stuff from today? I thought you said you don’t advocate using the stuff from today? Keep the axles open and that sway bar connected too.

That’s far from what I said.

That's why the Mojave is so great! 2.72 transfer case in 4-low allows you to go a good clip faster than the 4:1 ratio in the Rubicon. Excellent if you need the extra grunt of 4-low but want to also have some speed. I don't think 4-high gives you any mechanical multiplication of power like low range does.
I have that same gearing in my Max Tow. And so does the Overland owners.

A Rubicon can do sand but not fast. 4HI will be best but if you have enough weight in the rear you could try 2WD. Disconnecting the sway may make it a bit more bearable. Mojave OTOH can easily hit 40mph in 4HI and take it with a full load, and in 2WD no issue at all.

You'll be fine if you air down to 18-20, carry sufficient weight in the bed and keep moving forward. Like someone said above, plan your turns.

He's talking about the 4 to 1 ratio for low range of the Rubicon transfer case. Not the 4.10 to 1 gears in the axles.
The other transfer cases have a 2.72 to 1 ratio low range.

Don't forget 20psi in tires. Night and Day difference. In fact, the time I pulled out a 4wd Tahoe that was framed out, when I pulled up beside him to see if he needed help I almost got stuck because I got cocky and had aired up about 1/2 mile before exiting Ocala NF. I aired back down it it walked right out. The only time I put it in low is when I'm pulling out full size 2wd Rams and Tahoe's. I lock front and rear in 4low first and it just walks them out. I had to give the 4wd Tahoe a little tug, but was cake after that.
I have 35ā€ BFGKO2 s on Black Rhino Armories. I ve aired down to 30 psi before. Can I go down to 20 psi without beadlocks?

Absolutely. I have rub takeoff falken MTs, and always put them down to 18-20 off road or especially the sand. I'm no expert on beadlocks, but I think people really want them for going way low, like 6-12 psi range. Wider wheels impact this as well

Wife's JL doesn't have beadlocks and goes to 12-15 no issues. With beadlocks I like 8 for sand. I have a kraken and can air up in under 10 minutes total though so airing down is something I always do.

I run 37ā€ Toyo R/T’s on Black Rhino Armories and will usually run down to 15# when I’m in the serious rocks. 2+ years doing that and haven’t popped a bead yet.

I’m still running stock Rubber and wheels on my JTRD. When I come to a paved cross road and have to drive a couple of miles I won’t go over 40-45. I actually think I’d be good down to 15 or so, but have found no need. @ 18-20psi the rough washboard roads smooth out, float over sand and it’s a pleasure to drive with little to no wheel spin…unless I wanna. It just tickles me to crawl past folks that thought they had to hit something fast and end up getting stuck. Now, if you are one that enjoys to drive 90 to nothing and do tight donuts, I’d leave it at street pressure or better yet leave that type of driving to the SxS’s. These vehicles are not meant for high speed crap no matter which flavor is stuck on the side of your hood. Speed and too much skinny peddle break parts. Drive then correctly and you’ll save tons on money and drive right by the idiots who think it’s a race.

Offroad+ isn't a nanny and helps in sand. It is basically a more aggressive tune.
My experience is that in 4high it sharpens the skinny peddle and in 4low it dumbs it down. With the added Torq it's easy for the throttle to be twitchy. With the Offroad+ activated, it smooths it out to where it's a bit less responsive. The affect is when you're bouncing around and your right foot can't be as smooth on the skinny peddle it will be much smoother.
