Hey guys. I am looking to have a rubicon takeoff suspension installed on my sport at the same time I have a shop mount and balance new tires for me. I will be sourcing the parts myself from this forum or facebook marketplace. I have a couple of questions:

1. Do I need to replace parts that are not shocks and springs for this? Most people look to be selling shocks and springs only.

2. What should I expect to pay for takeoff shocks and springs?

3. What should I expect to pay for labor for a mount/balance of tires and install of the shocks/springs all at once? Will a shop install parts that I source?

Sorry for the beginner questions. I am brand new to this sort of thing and am asking as many questions as possible before I start. Thanks in advance guys.

Where are you located. It's an easy install with a good floor jack and hand tools.
I got my shocks and springs for $200.

I am in GA. Partially worried about if I ever had to have warranty work done I might need a receipt saying a qualified shop did the work done on something that’s not just bolt-on. Also great price! Where did you find that?

You can replace just the shocks and springs if you are doing Rubicon takeoffs.

I do question why though. You will only gain 1/2 of lift (if any) which is really not worth it. The ride will be stiffer. For occasional off-roading you will be fine with stock sport shocks. I actually changed back to my sport shocks because they behaved better that the Rubicon shocks over highway joints. With that I would expect you could find a like new set for $200 or under.

Labor I would expect $400 ish. Certainly not $800 considering I swapped mine in my garage with minimal tools and a few jacks in 4 hours and 6 pack.

I got my springs and shocks for $200 as well on forum market place , I am in SC, do not need anything else to replace. Most places seem to be about $300 and up for install. I used that money and upgraded my floor jack and a battery torque wrench (probably didn't need) and put them in myself with spacers as well all in my drive way one morning before my twenty something son that was going to help me woke up. Plenty of videos on the install, I did one wheel at a time which was pretty easy , hardest part of the whole thing was lifting the tires back on ;)

Thanks for the response. I have been trying to do my research and have seen reports of about 1.25” of lift and a better ride, but have also seen a couple of reports like yours. Sure does make it confusing.

If you are north of Atlanta I have a set of Rubicon Front Launch Edition springs that I'd sell.

Those are the tallest, gas engine springs for your vehicle.

As stated if you are able to DIY it, it is VERY easy.

What parts other than shocks would this require replacing? Would the normal rubicon shocks be compatible or would I need to find launch edition shocks to go with it?

The regular shocks are fine.

Agreed, wouldn't bother.

I'd just do a coil spacer lift.

I got an honest inch front and rear with my set. Measured front and rear frame to ground. Found them on CL. I ran 33s and flexed out.
Added a terraflex 1.5 to take the rake out.
I liked the ride over the stock sport s. But it's all a matter of opinion.

I have yet to see anything credible confirming professional labor is required to maintain a factory warranty.

I regularly see Rubicon takeoff suspension parts on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist and the price is always around $200.

The only situation that factory warranty coverage might be an issue is if there is a problem caused by the work performed.

As others said, I would do a leveling kit while your in there, 1.0-1.5" spacer kit if you want to get rid of the rake.

An adjustable track bar would be a good idea to center your axle back up.

I would look into the Mopar lift lower control arms or some geometry correction brackets to get some caster back.
