Think she will be getting a Jeep Cherokee next month. So I get my truck back all to myself.
That will be exciting! We had a Cherokee back in MN and thought it was excellent as a commuter, especially in the weather. We swapped it for a Grand Cherokee which was nice for the space, but worse in the snow.

We took advantage of the high trade in rates back in '22. We traded in my '08 Power Wagon and her '13 Grand Cherokee TrailHawk for the JTRD. Both had high mileage on them. Plus the PW had some major rust under it. Wifey didn't think she would be driving after having brain surgery for her Parkinson's. But she's fine now, and driving. And wants her own car again.

My goodness that is such great news! Pass along our heartfelt wishes for her. And as her spouse, cheers to you. Looking forward to seeing more jeeps on your thread ?

Why did the PW have so much rust?? Surgery sucks man I'm sorry to hear that. Been through 2 of those myself - life changing. Hopefully she is better for it though!!! But way awesome she wants her own vehicle again thats huge!! Hope she gets better every day!

The PW rust issue. Well, the tailgate was reskinned after being hit from behind. It rusted out along the bottom. Under the cab. It developed a rust hole about 8" long and 4" wide under the driver's seat. Right where all the rocks and gravel gets thrown at. The whole area looked like it was sand blasted. The truck was undercoated by Ziebart, but I never took it back for it's check ups. Blame that on me. Body shop wanted between $4K to $7k to fix it. But wouldn't guarantee the rust repair. Said that they wouldn't know until they actuarially start to tear the old panel off for how much rust was there. I've had the truck in water up over the hood a few times too.

I've been through 13 surgeries. She has been through a few herself.

Man that's crazy. And seems like it rusted awful fast! Were you in a heavily salted area? My poor TJ has rusted more in a year here than it has in 15 years in the rain capital of the nation.

Well......I live in the south west corner of Pa. So it's part of the rust belt. The state uses a lot of salt.

Got my diesel fuel pump done on the 3rd. It still runs great.

Service writer said that Stellantis is only paying 1.8 hrs to do the pump swap. On my invoice, it has,

1. CSSMZ461AA Pump-Fuel Injection (N/C)
1. CSGNZ961AA Gasket-EGR TUBE (N/C)
1. 4275086AE LABEL-AUTHORIZED MODIFICATION (N/C)
1. CSGNZ965AA TUBE-FUEL SUPPLY (N/C)

I asked for and got my old pump. Thinking on sending it out and having the pistols pinned to stop them from rotating.

The old pump has 6 punch marks on the top.
The last 2 pictures show the screen on the solenoid. It clean. No particles on it. I must be doing something right.
