Not a fan of tube doors or these other after market doors. Jeep needs to come out with the JL / JT half doors already. I had half doors for 14 years on my TJ, still dreading the full doors on my JT.

Lightweight, come off super easy, no paint to scratch when I toss them in the bed, and unlike tube doors they will keep you dry if it rains. They are bit noisy, but I loved them on my past jeep.

I would love to have a set of real half doors for my Gladiator at some point, but who knows if that will come to fruition. I'll just have to enjoy the LJ ones for now.

If I remember correctly - When you wanted the half doors for the JK originally it took a bit of time and option sets before they became available. Its been a while but I don't alternate set doors are a focus for Jeep. With the relationship with the aftermarket now (much better than TJ Wrangler - lots learned with JK) they will defer to those vendors to establish the best product - i.e fit / finish. It would be interesting to see the quantity of 1/2 door replacement skins / business generated by having the option.

As a note - I have full and 1/2 doors for my TJ - will need 1/2 doors for the JT as a summer option.

Thats awesome! I might give bestop till May too see if they release that core doors kickstarter they hinted at. If they don't I will be all over these for sure.

I've never liked half doors. They're ugly. They're a PITA when you need to roll (unzip in this case) the window down. The "glass" gets foggy and hard to see through over time. And if it's an open air experience you seek, just take the damned doors off to begin with. To me, half doors were pointless. And apparently others agreed because Jeep started to really dial that option back.

But, good luck with your campaign.

While I don't think they are ugly, I do agree with the rest of this post. I've had half doors with all my CJs and my YJs. Busted zippers and fogged, scratched plastic windows suck. I'd rather go without doors. Jeeps are like motorcycles, if you drive one long enough you're going to get wet. Just accept it.

I would like to see Jeep find a way to make the doors and windows that don’t need the frame on the upper part of the door. They could incorporate the window weather stripping into the body and top. Roll the windows all the way down and you have a half door.

Good idea but I seriously don't think that will ever happen.

I would never use the removable inserts so I would rather have a flat door that looks OEM. They do look like they are a nice fit and high quality though.

Exactly! What's with the holes? Why not just a flat door?

You can count me in too, I would love to have solid 1/2 doors for summer driving and off road.

If/when Mopar releases the JL half doors, I'd look into having a body shop fill in the fugly holes. Here in BC, we're not allowed to run door-less (on road); half-doors are allowed if they were available from the factory. Aftermarket and tube doors are hit-and-miss with the.

To each their own but personally I would order factory half doors in a second if available for the JT. Had a set I ran on both my 12’ JK Sport and 16’ JKRHR and loved them for warm weather season. Even had them resprayed when going from Flame Red to Billet. Opens up the whole cabin and never felt the need to remove doors due to this.
