To all the new JT diesel owners having these DEF issues. Has any dealer mentioned a software update or solution?

Thats what my dealer mentioned to me last year beginning of 2021. Had the same issue when I first picked up my truck. Def tank froze and threw code. Dealer monitored and replaced tank and heater out of caution. But according to them should have never happened. The Def tank is designed to freeze and should not cycle when the ambient temp is is near zero ( don't quote me on that but there is an ambient temp were the def tank is not supposed to operate). The sensors are supposed to recognize that, then thaw out the tank / DEF lines. The CELs should not occur (unless you have a faulty heater). They should be able to update the computer to not throw a code when the tank is frozen.

Have about 22k miles on my truck now... guess I drove a lot this past year. My plan for this winter has been to garage my jeep and plug in the block heater. So far so good for the Minnesota winters, it was -10ÂşF this morning.

My hope is at some point Jeep will update the software. @JeepCares

I just got the Service DEF code and 200 miles before vehicle will not restart. It's been about -3-7 degrees out. Parked in garage.
Can't wait to see what they say at my dealership.

I have a 2021 JTRD with 25000km on it. First month was a nightmare of electrical woes and dealer visits. I finally looked at the underside of the truck myself for wire routing and the fuse box or distribution centre. 27 very loose fuses not seen by dealer until I told them. HMMMM. Two wire connections under truck being impacted by exhaust. No wonder on bumps the truck shot codes. Got that sorted and the weather got cold up here in Canada Nova Scotia. DEF 300 km till no start. Dealers have reset PCM. I lasted 1 month now again. Going in tomorrow morning again. I will mention the JeepGladiator Forum and the situations listed. I will not buy Dealer BS. NASA we jeep diesel owners have a problem when its cold and sometimes when its not. This is still not issue enough to get rid of my torque monster. It off roads so well will Clayton and Currie under its belly! FCA grow a pair and fix the issues with our very expensive vehicles. I don't expect to garage my truck, never have before and all other diesel vehicles that I own or have owned worked just fine with DEF systems in place. I did not purchase my truck from a BEAN Counter. I bought it from a vehicle manufacturer that was supposed to have tested the rig before sticking the RUBICON sticker on it. Nuff Said

Hello all diesel owners. There is a recall from FCA yesterday on our trucks. Dealer did not give details said they are not sure what it is. They reflashed my trucks ECU and the service sheet had "can not complete service due to parts unavailable". Said the parts are part of the recall I believe. It was all very cryptic. Its 15 below 0 celcius here in Nova Scotia today and truck worked fine . Do not believe it is using DEF because on two long trips on HWY The DEF gauge did not move. We shall see. If anyone finds out what the recall is please post. I see nothing on the WWW yet.

Do you have a recall number to reference for people to look up?

I called my dealer to take my JTWD in due to the latest DEF fail, and he confirmed that TSB 18-002-22 is out, and references the P208B error code.
They are going to do a software update, I hope this is the fix.

Just got back from a wave change, PCM was updated, ref attached. I could be imagining things, perhaps it’s just relearning, but the truck felt very peppy. Meaning to research what this is, hopefully DEF related although I haven’t had any issues despite a few weeks straight of single digits.
