Just curious if anyone has a good reason to have a shock failure according to dealer on 25 Mohave X at 12k miles street driven miles.

Found a rotational clunk noise and feeling while in a straight line slow reverse coming out of driveway. Clicking from front right while doing a slow 360 turn.

They tell me it is a shock failure. Should they be replacing both front or should i ask Jeep Wave to make that happen?

Replacing a single defective shock on a low mileage vehicle is not a problem I do question the diagnosis of a bad shock since the noise is rotational and clicking sounds more like a u joint or CV joint or possibly a bad FAD, but I’m not there, just saying

Not sure how much Jeep wave will be, might try getting the district phone number or if you can beg them for a loaner so they have some chips in the game, that always speeds up the process

I had a bad shock that came with my lift kit. Thing would not move at all. So they CAN come out of the factory all dicked up. But yeah.. Rotational click does not sound shock related.

Shocks don't (rather, can't) really make a noise unless the truck is moving up or down. Unless the shock is completely busted.

i have had no call back from the jeep wave call tree. What a bad experience this round.
Dealership is telling me the shock will not ship until the 12th as an ETA.

Been there since Feb 16 2026. I have asked if they actually put it in reverse and experienced the rotational clunk feeling and sound and always get crickets and that the mechanic is not just throwing parts at it and that they have to return the parts.

I still hope for the best and think it is absurd that it will sit there for over a month for a dang shock replacement if that is what the fix is.

They do have a loaner lined up so that is better news than in most cases.

Not sure of your lemon laws in Texas but you should look into it and save all your receipts and let them perform their repairs. It will all come down to documentation so never walk away without a work order and no need to get into a pissing contest with them you will always loose Just stay calm and build your case if they don’t fix your complaint

25 days later. Picked the truck up, shock was replaced. Dealership showed me the old shock and compressed it to the floor which took all of the weight of the guy pushing down. It did not rebound tstate in while in front of me for the 30 seconds or so. Is this normal or confirms failure for this type of shock on a mojave.

Dealership did not seem to be able to reproduce my reported noise experience. I confirmed Issue was not present after new shock. I still do not understand the failure and feeling through chassis while only in reverse from a shock. Hoping it stays "fixed" of course.

Sometimes a rotational noise is rust on the brake rotors, if it has been sitting for a while after a rain. A few good stops and it goes away.

This was more of a knock felt with a tire rotation, foot on break, backing out of driveway, Repeated it same day twice hours apart then delivered to dealership following day. A noise and feeling on a slow reverse related to a shock makes no sense or does it if internally it was failing and causing the coil to get compressed making the noise and knock feel?
