Westin is at the top of my list. Looks great! Anyway you could do a side profile of the bumper? I want to see how far it sticks out, etc. thanks!

I've been reading on the Wrangler forums about this bumper. Now I am torn between this and the Arcus. On the Wrangler forums people were stating they had to cut the frame rails to get the bumper installed. I read through the JT install instructions and they did not mention cutting anything. Did you have to cut anything during the install?

No sir, no cutting at all , slipped on smoothly and actually an easy install. Pretty heavy for one person, especially with the winch bolted on.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply! I think this bumper is a major contender against the Arcus!

Pretty happy with it, basic concept is the winch cradle with a center top, center bottom, and both side clamshells. I don't have faith in the ends withstanding any kind of rocks/impacts but my JT isn't going to see much of that.

Damn that looks sick- and on the right color as well. What winch did you end up going with?

Smittybilt Gen 2. No winch yet, debating on either Smittybilt Winch or new Apex Badlands 12000 from Harbor Freight.

Installed the Gen 2 Smittybilt today. I was slightly annoyed to find out the lower support brackets don't work with the Rubicons-only those with plastic skids. I called Smittybilt and they said, "there are not provisions for the Rubicons." They have asked me for a bunch of pictures. There needs to be a new bracket to tie into the steel skid mounts for these bumpers.

Just in case others have the same issue. I received an email back from Smittybilt. Here's what you do: I just completely finished mine. So the steel skid plate brackets, the ones with 2 bolts on each side have to be removed. Then you can gain access through the bottom of the lower frame portion. Apparently they include (which the instructions do not mention) bolts/nuts/washers to utilize the non-threaded hole. After doing that the lower brackets mounted perfect. Make sure to loosen the 6 frame bolts up top because the lower mounts will pull the bumper slightly up.

Looks great- did you notice any difference in MPG / wind noise / road driving after installing?

Well, my driving schedule hasn't quite been the same the last two months but what I have done, so far no noticeable difference in MPG, noise or road driving. The bumper is pretty light weight, mostly just the winch cradle. The winch isn't too heavy either, but I did not notice any difference in road manners with both installed.

As I see ya both are running the RR HD do you have the matching skid plate installed. If so how was the fitment.

I have the stubby HD bumper & a warn vr evo 10s being delivered tomorrow & didn't order the skid plate as there are some mixed reviews on it, but nothing specifies which bumper they had since it also fits a few other RR bumpers.
