I was just looking at these Wednesday and really liked them.

part number was RH-80106

Was quoted $899.95 plus 2 hours labor ($120 per hour)

How long did it take you to install yours?

Did you have any issues when you removed the bolts holding the body on?

Where did you buy them?
Apologies if I'm speaking out of place, but paying someone to install these is a waste unless there's a compelling reason you can't do it yourself. The only snag you may run into is the bolts from the steps themselves being slightly too long, which a hacksaw will make quick work of. The rest is just tightening nuts and bolts - it really couldn't be simpler.

In the past I have installed steps on my ram 2500 and I agree it’s not that big of a problem, however after 3 shoulder surgeries…

If the body bolts didn’t have lock tight on them causing me to ā€œworkā€œ them back and forth by hand I would just do it myself.

The labor rate of $120 per hour makes me cringe so when my Gladiator finally gets here I’ll grab my longest breaker bar and give it a try. ?

Cafecito did you install the RockHard slider steps on your truck?

Some pizza and beer offered up to members of your local Jeep club will usually get you plenty of help.

Ha ha best suggestion I’ve had today!

Most of my friends are old like me, but I do have a neighbor that owes me a favor or two… so I won’t have buy him beer, but the pizza is great anytime!

I guess I’ll have to find a local Jeep club that accepts Gladiator owner.

Not those ones specifically, but I've installed Mopar and Barricade ones. I'm assuming they're all more or less the same conceptually.

I feel you on the shoulder thing though. At my ripe age of 39.99, I've hurt myself more than once working on our vehicles. I vote for @SSinGA 's suggestion though - find some locals that would spare 30 minutes for a few beers and get it done. :)

I know they aren't a "bar", but I really like the RockSlide Engineering steps/sliders.

I really like MetalCloak's solution. It's set up in two parts. First you install the rock rail, then the flip step is installed in one of two positions. I have it in the low/slanted position here for everyday driving and ease of entry. It can also be flipped up so that it provides a flat step at the base of the door. It takes less than 10 min to flip them if you're concerned about the step getting snagged or just prefer the up position.

That said, there is a video of a guy dropping the weight of his entire rig on one in the down position and it just slid right off with no damage.

I really like my RockHard 4x4 slider/steps. They give me enough of a step along the whole length of the cab and are heavy duty so they offer good protection. It isn't the cheapest option but is good quality.

I'm wanting these as well but am having a hell of a time deciding between the up or the down. Did you have the same dilemma? Why did you go with the down version? From what I can tell they both provide about the same amount of step width out from the vehicle, one is just higher than the other?

I really like the Rubi Rails by Barricade
Just took mine off because I wanted a lower and wider step.
The Barricades, though they don't look it, are heavier than their replacements, and they contour with the body seam.
I like the step function of my Hooke Road drop steps though I don't think they would last long as a rock rail; very light for all that metal.

Ya, they are identical except one sits about 3.5" lower if I remember right. It was an easy decision for me. My truck has the Mopar lift and 35's and I have 3 small children so the angled down works better for their short legs.

Ok, I’m still looking at the RockHard 4x4 slider/steps and recently got to handle one for the Wrangler, I was impressed by the weight of this thing.

Have their been any studies done on how the extra weight affects the handling?

I would think that it would lower the center of gravity of the vehicle thereby improving its handling.

Do not get me wrong I’m not trying to turn it into a Grand Prix racer just considering if it in some way improves the way it drives.

Any recommendations on side steps/running boards? Brands, styles, anything. I’m finding it hard looking at pictures and visualizing how they’d look on my own truck. Maybe it’d help to get the community's opinion.. thanks Jeep fam! I am currently looking to pull the plug on these, I am just not sure. Jeep looks exactly the same

I also have billet silver with black fenders. Here are my rock slide engineering Gen3 slider steps with the extra armor. I can’t say enough about them, and they hold up to SERIOUS trails.
