I traded my 2022 Rubicon for a new 2023 Gladiator with the Max Tow option package. The Rubicon was modified and weighed 5,780 pounds with me in it and 1/4 tank of fuel. The payload according to the label was 1140 pounds. The Max Tow on the new Sport S label shows 1450 on the label I have not weighed it yet but I am guessing that it weighs in stock form about 400 pounds less. So that is a significant difference. I also really like the overall handling and driving with the stock suspension. It is SO much better than the 2022 Sport S that I purchased new that had the standard tow group. I have put 2450 miles on it in under 3 weeks. Today's trip was 750 in East Tennessee across 300 miles of North Carolina and back and my true MPG was 24.5! My lifetime combined MPG is 24.3. That includes to road trips totaling 1300 miles and the remaining being combined city and highway. Out of the three that I have owned this one is my favorite!

I have a ‘21 sport s max tow with 28k on the odometer. Avg fuel economy for me is around 20-21 mpg. Only time I have achieved 24 is with a strong tailwind….once driving back from a Colorado ski trip to Texas and once driving back from corpus to Dallas….i averaged over 24 for both with 4 passengers and all of our stuff. That was with stock tires. I put 34’s on yesterday so those numbers will go down.

I know and I'm loving it. I didn't need a tow package, Bought property at O.C.MD and put a place on it. I never had a 4 x 4 that got that kind of mpg. But I still love the Glad.

I’m averaging 14 mpg around town. 18 mpg on highway trips @ 70-75 mph.

My wife was pushing a healthy 20 mpg when she was commuting to Boston in my truck.

‘21 Max Tow w/ 35s and 52k miles on the odometer. Anyways, I’m happy with it.

My stone stock Overland (ordered 5/19, built 6/19, delivered 7/19) gets 21 bopping around in the summer (20 in the winter) and I just took a trip from home to the Raleigh, NC area and back and averaged 26.4 MPG (calculated fill to fill). The best I have seen was 27.6 MPG (again calculated fill to fill) on a trip from home to northern Michigan and back. I just set the cruise at 70 MPH and go.

I also tow a 27', ~5,100 lb (with all we want or need in it) travel trailer and get between 12.5 and 13 MPG towing. Not too to shabby :)

2022 overland with tow pkg, long as I stay around 65 mph on my 60 mile commute averages real mileage of 22 mpg! At anything over 65 mph it plunges!!

Since purchasing new (leftover) in July of 23 it’s averaged all driving at 19.5, 11K total miles!

go Jeep!!!

A couple of things that I noticed as well. Of the three that I have owned the brakes are by far the best. The Gladiator Sport S with only the tow package the brakes had a little bit softer pedal feel and the travel of the pedal while stopping was a little longer. The Rubicon had 37's and the original pads and I THOUGHT that it stopped okay. This one with the Max Tow option the pedal is higher, firmer and the pads have so much more bite. So much so you kind of have to get used to it. Also the suspension at least on road is firmer and very stable at speed. The side to side rocking motion of the Rubicon was my only complaint but is non-existent on this one. The difference in the Sport S with the basic tow package and this one is about like a base Dodge Charger and a Pursuit Package Dodge Charger. Anyone on the fence on the Max Tow I would highly recommend!

To my knowledge, the brakes are the same across all models. I know they toyed with the idea of a "heavy duty" brake package, but nothing ever came of it once the model was launched.

Not discounting your perception, but there is not a part number difference.

I had read that as well. When I go to the dealer I will print an equipment summary on all three. That will have the option codes as well as the standard equipment. Then I will know for sure. Interesting enough on Mopar Parts it does show one part number for the front pads. But, it also shows a " Big Brake Kit" that it says is standard on all Rubicon's. The assumption there implies a difference, at least on the Rubicon. It definitely feels to me that the pad material at least is different. I will find out either way. Or, it could be I am used to the brakes on 37's 😄

My Mojave is consistent on average 15/18. Towing my boat it’s 8-9 mpg. I didn’t buy it for mileage. I have my hybrid sedan for that and average 41-42 very consistently.

Over 23 mpg in 4600 miles of combined driving. I drive for economy but not as much as I did with 37's on my Rubicon. At 4300 miles are so my mileage increases 1-1.5 mpg as it has on my others. I am soon going to 315/70r17 tires. We will see what affect that has.

I have 750 miles on my 2024 Rubicon and so far getting 16.6 mpg city/highway hand calculated.
In contrast the optimistic fuel economy gauge shows at least mpg higher.
