Some places don't allow tire poke.
Uh, yeah, you do know what to do - clean it before hitting the road. I'd be totally unhappy if I had to share a public road with something like that tossing rocks and mud.
Try being on a motorcycle with that stuff being tossed around by some uncaring Jeep guy.
Gives the rest a bad rep.

Super cars and hyper cars actually throw more road debris than a lifted truck with big tires…
A big mud tire will only throw “stones” if you jus came out of gravel/mud but the cars and there super sticky car tires will throw anything that’s on the road… I live in NH and we’re not supposed to have anything past the fenders but only the state police enforce that and even then it’s hit or miss…

Yeah cop is a dick. VSP are notorious asshats. Used to live in Luray Va. which is a very tourist visited area Troopers would hide at the bottom of grades every holiday weekend writing tickets on anyone five over. Actually hurt business for many of the tourist spots for years.

Some places that I have travel through. A lot of the secondary roads are dirt. After a rain, it's a muddy mess. Drive a few miles and pop out on a paved road. You will leave mud on the road.

Rokblox? I don’t really understand why more people don’t have them. Jeeps especially since our windows like to catch rocks left and right, would think they appreciate them the most? ??‍

But the recon flare extensions and rokblox (knock on wood) has kept them happy and my tires hang out as much if not more than yours to the factory flares…. Flaps are removable.

The height of the tires isn't contributing to the laws broken, it's the overall width of the vehicle which includes the wheels/tire setup that may be different wheel offset and wider tire than what came from the factory. Once you get to a certain width additional lights are required to let other drivers know.

This is why the Ram TRX, F150 Raptor, Bronco Raptor etc all have the additional 3 front and rear marker lights, and their base versions do not.

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 108, (aka Title 49, Subtitle B, Chapter Five, Section 571.108 of the Code of Federal Regulations) lays out the legal details around vehicle lighting. Among the statutes you'll find this gem describing how the identification lamps should be placed on any vehicle 80 inches or wider: "On the front and rear—3 lamps, amber in front, red in rear, as close as practicable to the top of the vehicle, at the same height, and as close as practicable to the vertical centerline, with lamp centers spaced not less than 6 inches or more than 12 inches apart. Alternatively, the front lamps may be located as close as practicable to the top of the cab."

No, it only comes on when you brake, you need three red running lights. The Raptor has these in the brake light/bed light housing on the back of the cab.

I saw OP is in Virginia. First they tax you up the wahoo every year, just to own a vehicle. And I've heard horror stories about the State Police. You could have avoided all the above by just.... riding a horse.

With the pressure washer at the trailhead? Short of a few ohv parks there's generally no means for washing a vehicle coming off the trail. Our property in AZ is out 15 miles of dirt road and the nearest car wash from there is 40 miles. If it's muddy it's muddy, not much you can do there. That 15 miles of dirt road is a public road, as are all the forest service roads, most trails (including the rubicon trail), etc. How are you going to avoid sharing the millions of miles of dirt and gravel roads without getting dirty?

Sumilar issue... I live 2 miles down a dirt gravel road with 1/2 mile driveway .. pulled over in our small town for license plate unreadable.... dusty from county roads. Cant wash up when I get to town at 0130 in the morning on the way to work an hour and a half away??‍
