Since AEV wasn't the manufacturer, they couldn't rate the Brute's towing capacity greater than the Wrangler it was converted from, 3500lb for the 4 door, 2000lb for the very short-lived JK 2 door conversion.

The red jeep is a YJ with a Scrambler half top (easy to do if you lose the entire roll bar) probably from GR8tops by the look of the bulk head. The scrambler roll bar would have been behind the cab, the CJ-7/YJ roll bar tilts back behind the driver, it would have ran into the top, the windshield and doors match up though.

Comanche was made until '92. I would totally rock JCR's build:

Loved my '89 SporTruck. Rumor was Chrysler killed it because the Comanche was biting into the
Dodge Dakota sales.

Makes sense...if true, they killed the wrong truck, IMO.

How is defined "Modern? Can't forget the J-10, made from 1962 until 1988.

2010 onward is "modern" for the purposes of this discussion.

ETA: I know that the original post is of a 1995 Jeep. I have seen JKs as a 2dr truck conversion and that is what I was thinking of when I answered the question

In that case, yes; the JT is the only modern factory Jeep truck. /thread.

Now what the hell is this thing?! Being sold as a 1995 Jeep, 4.0,5 speed,1/2 cab

That is a YJ (leaf springs) with half doors, with an aftermarket half cab hardtop and aftermarket upper half door inserts. No rollbar :surprised: !!!!!!!!!!

A nice feature JK, JL and JT are lacking, on CJ7, CJ8 and YJ; tops and doors were interchangeable, with the exception of a CJ7 and YJ tops on a CJ8.

There's a company named Gr8tops that makes aftermarket half cab tops and bolt in bulkheads to make Wranglers into small pickup trucks. I had a TJ that I did that to, was kind of unique and neat. Totally the most useless pickup in the world, my bed was only 32 inches long. Plus you lose most of the structural strength of the roll cage when you cut off the rear legs. But lots of fun.

If my JK was a 4-door, I'd be seriously considering doing this:
