I am looking for sources of quality split loom wiring protection. We live in the desert and with temps here hitting well over 100 degrees during our summers the spilt loom material from Amazon or O'Reilley's last about a year or 2 and then crumbles. Is there any quality stuff out there that will take the heat?

Look at the stuff that's UV rated, and tbh split loom is generally junk compared to expandable sleeving.

Also, don't use electrical tape, use Tessa tape. Beware, it's $7-9/roll, but you won't find anything better. You also can't tear it, you have to cut it. No really, we used to bet $100 that the new guy couldn't tear it, never lost $100 on that bet.

I worked for the company in AZ that makes 3d printed clutch covers for 700-1000hp SxS as their wiring specialist for a while. I also was a wiring specialist for the company who created the ModRight ModMat for PC building. We always used expandable sleeving, and either quality heat shrink or Tessa tape.

It's AZ, nothing lasts out there with the UV and heat. That's why manufacturers test their products out there.

There are Three manufacturers that make Industrial Grade split loom, corrugated split tubing and other wiring accessories. Panduit, Thomas and Betts, and Hellerman-Tyton.

Their products are expensive but they will have the heat properties you are looking for.

McMaster-Carr. You can find some high temperature split loom there. Also different styles besides the corrugated loom. I've been replacing my JK loom using this source. JK loom turns to dust.

sometimes I can't write or read. Corrected the post.

Correct wire type is more important. I prefer using high temp harness tape over split loom as it cheaper and easier to obtain.

I agree with Tessa Tape. Split loom is notorious for falling apart, even if it never sees the sun.
