I have a 22' Sport S and I love it, everything it stock but I plan to get some larger tires, 35" and new shocks but no lift.

My question though is how capable is the Sport/Sport S as an off-roader?
I know it is not as capable as Rubicon or Mojave, or even a JL b/c of the shorter wheelbase, but can a Sport/Sport S do 90%+ of what others can do off-road-wise?

Its a solid front axle 4x4. so yeah. its the same basic recipe as a rubi or Mojave. Its not like its a completely different model.

The best way I've been able to describe it is that the JT, in it's barest form, is already at 95/100. The Rubi/Mojave bump that up to like, 97/100.

I don't know any grading scale that doesn't count a 95% as a solid A.

The desire to not sustain damage will probably stop you before the lack of ability of the vehicle does.

Be prepared to re-gear if you go 35's. 33's are borderline with the stock Sport S 3.73 gears (which is what I'm running on my Sport S).

You CAN run 35's with 3.73 gears, but you won't be seeing much of 8th gear anymore and your fuel mileage will be awful (or should I say more awful). It will still be awful with 4.10's or 4.56's - but not as awful. LOL

I have a 2020 Sport S. Stock wheels and tires replaced with Rubicon take offs. Changed front bumper added a winch. I don't rock crawl but I drive on beach, trails, use it to hunt and fish. Went to Tennessee for the Jeep Invasion. Its more capable than I am.

If you go off-roading with 35s, you want a teraflex lift in the front.
