I had to laugh - My other Wrangler 97 on 37"'s get me a lot of official attention here at the NJ Shore - between road, tire and ocean winds - " Good Evening Sir - License registration and insurance - Sir have you had anything to drink this evening" - No Officer - Just my loving Jeep.
hahaha , only in a jeep :)

Yes you can run it in any tire. The theory is that nitrogen doesn't expand and contract the way air does so the tire pressure never changes (much).
Plus nitrogen molecules are bigger than the other molecules in our air so tires stay inflated longer even though air is mostly nitrogen the smaller molecules leak out easier.

I am struggling with 4 inches of play in the steering and wandering terribly. It is at the dealer now and they are in communication with Jeep Cares/wave case manager. They say that nothing is wrong. I will keep pushing right up to when I lemon law it a get another if they don't fix it.

yeah that is more than play in steering - 4" is almost a quarter turn on steering wheel

coming from a 2014 ram 1500, the steering definitely felt loose the first couple of days driving it. i was over correcting to keep the gladiator going straight down the road. eventually i got used to it, in fact so much that the steering now feels responsive and natural to me. i have no issues keeping true in my lane.

Same here. Although I’m running 36-37 psi cold on 285/65/18 Falken Wildpeak A/T.
@TYJ, how is paved road ride on the Falken's ? Were there any problems running that size tire since the original tire size for the Overland is 255/70R18; when I get my Overland, I plan to install the Falken Wildpeak A/T, but was unsure about what size to install; thanks for any infor.

These tires are great on paved road. Quiet and hardly any different in feel than the 18ā€ street tires that come on the Overland. Be aware that there are 2 types of the Falken Wildpeak A/T in this size! One has the snowflake symbol and the other doesn’t. The $ difference is like $2/tire so make sure you’re getting the one you need. Both are C rated. Many on this forum advised against D or E rated tires because they can be ā€œharshā€. Unfortunately BFG TKOs in 275/65/18 are D rated. This is one reason many Overland owners with 18ā€ wheels switch to 17ā€ wheels... more tire options.

275/65/18 has the exact same diameter as 255/70/18 so no need to recalibrate the speedometer.

I posted pix in this thread: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/gladiator-overland-tire-options.21483/#post-332765

Been hearing alot about to much play in the steering. That is just another thing I will have to check out before I take custody of my overland Friday. Any other inputs would be helpful.
I did notice this upon my first test drive. It’s very similar to the feel of a Wrangler. Not a big deal, just something to get used to. I’ve owned my JT since July. 3,509 miles, I really enjoy it.

I drove mine about 200 miles tonight after I picked it u...

air pressure at 42 and the thing wanders and bounces like it is riding on balloons...

36 psi and it all evened out...

I had a few f-150's prior to the Taco and the Fords drove great, the Taco a bit old school and the Jeep in that same camp...

feels like one of my Dodge Rams from the late 90's but with electric assist that enhances the wandering feel...

but was comfortable at the end of the drive back to old school driving with new school vehicle.:jk:
Same. 36 PSI helps quite a bit.

With almost 7k miles, mine has ā€œcalmed downā€ quite a bit. Not sure if i just got used to it or what. Don’t do the semi-truck shuffle like it had originally.
I always felt the new knobby tires were sometimes a culprit until the wear in a little.
