i know the wranglers aren't as hard up as the JTs and discounts work differently on the stripper models... but if i could get 34% of a 2dr JL base sport softtop 6mt right now i'd very extremely tempted.

It is a deal--There's definitely going to be a difference between the a diesel Rubicon and a Rubicon with the 3.6. There's still around 250 of 2023 Rubicon models with the 3.6, so 30% off of 2 year old model should be expected when the 2025 version of the exact same models are going to be hitting the showrooms. 2023 Diesel Rubicons are no longer available. There are probably a dozen or so new diesel rubicons left for sale in the country--and those that are left are likely not optioned well. What you have is much rarer and arguably much better than what is currently being heavily discounted..........

You are correct on all points. And the reason why this hasnt happened sooner is, credit cards. When the govt handouts dried up, people just started racking up even more CC debt(to the tune of $1.142 Trillion). We are all royally f*cked, walking the green mile, and we dont even know it.

What a mismanaged company !! Stellantis is in trouble. It’s not only Jeep but dodge and Chrysler too. They have way too much inventory even the chargers, ram 2500 and wagoneers . a lot of these are running on old platforms and prices are a joke. I feel sorry for the dealers trying to keep their head above water and pay the floor plan on all this inventory. Paying floor plan still on 23s , lol !! I love my Jeep but I think Stellantis is a sinking ship with very poor planing.

Yea….they always balk about ‘unemployment’ or ‘jobs that were created’ but they NEVER talk about how many jobs were LOST. The amount of people who were laid off OR…the amount of jobs that have gone overseas.

Just today…..the company I work for….which, changes owners more times than you’d change your underwear….. that they sold one of the production plants and the employees to go with it. Me included……

Honest to god….I can’t keep up with whatever company I work for each & everyday.…. You just can’t make this shit up!!

I think Stellantis just doesn’t understand Americans and people who regularly buy Jeeps. Pushing premium packages in the wrangler instead of saving them for the SUVs doesn’t make sense. Personally, I would have loved a Rubicon wrangler or gladiator. But I couldn’t see paying for all those technology things I’d never use.
don’t get me wrong, I love my max tow gladiator. But if I could get a base model 2 door wrangler with basic radio, no satellite radio, roll up windows, soft top only, manual transmission with the rubicon suspension and axles, I’d pay for that any day of the week.

Stellantis has so much inventory they need to layoff and quit making vehicles.

I wish I had this through current because July and Aug were probably better months, but here is days in inventory as of July:

100% this happens every time the economy slows down..... auto manufacturing isn't the only one laying off not A big surprise. I don't feel for the employees they literally just were on strike for higher wages and held their company hostage. Now the work slows down and they make more money they literally soaked up the rainy day fund.

Sure, there's plenty of defunct companies in the Automaker Boot Hill that either fizzled out with a decent product but couldn't get the sales to keep it moving... or worse, merged with someone else.

If anything the forebears of AMC were all pretty well mismanaged (am I right, @ShadowsPapa ?), which is how Chrysler wound up snagging AMC to get Jeep. But then again, Chrysler has almost always been plagued by poor management.

Maybe it's a genetic flaw in their C-suite that has been passed down to DaimlerChrysler, FCA and now Stellantis?

The Bronco is currently outselling the Wrangler for 2024.

TBF, I see Broncos everywhere. Not that Wranglers aren't ubiquitous as is but clearly the Ford is taking a chunk out of Jeep sales.

My wife liked the look of the Bronco, so we went and looked at them just for fun. She didn't drive it, but she liked the interior and the overall feel from sitting in the seats. Ultimately, the Gladiator with the EcoDiesel won hands down, but I think Ford did a good job on the Bronco. We've never owned a Ford in our lives, so that says a lot coming from us.

Personally, I would like to see Jeep bring back a boxy SUV again like the Cherokee XJ and Commander XK with affordability in mind.

@biodiesel we put my JT purchase on hold last year because at 200K miles her Subaru was sketchy driving 50 miles each way to work daily. We looked at a lot, test drove a ton. I'd be driving it post left knee surgery putting my clutch on hold for a bit and any time we road tripped.

We settled on a Bronco Sport because it gave the best blend of highway manners for her commute and rough and tumble enough to do the beach. The day ours came in last year there was a full size that we drove and though we both agreed it was a fun truck and well laid out but the commute would have been financially devastating in MPG. Both are kinda cool, ours is a Heritage Limited in yellow so it's more rare than the typical 3 banger Sport.

All of that being said, I realized only a few months ago that the real problem is Subaru ownership makes you way too practical in your future car buying decisions. Kinda takes the fun out of it.
