Only if the 5.7 came with a confirmed fix for its ticking, I'm not going to pay the up charge for the same issues as the 3.6. I don't have any complaints with performance with the 3.6 and the 4.10 ratio. Realistically the next V8 I buy is going to be in my LJ if I don't reman the 4.0 or in a 7.3 HD tow rig.

What are the chances,if they even offer it, that a 5.7 will get 14-16 mpg average on the street. Every v8 that comes into my shop ranges from 10-12 average mabey 13 at the best on the dash. I’d love more power but at the cost of fuel efficiency big NO. I drive an hour or two from my house to get to the offroad areas sometimes 5 hours for camping trips, I could only imagine the gas bill I’d have to pay for my play time in the v8. I know the wrangler 392 drinks gas on and off-road so I definitely don’t want the 392.
My F150 5.0L averages 18 mpg per the dash.

Amazing how many pie in the sky believers manage to ignore what a turd of an engine the 5.7 is in reality lol. Between eating cams, busting manifold bolts, and cracking manifolds... It's less than awesome for the people who actually have one lol.

Better or worse than the 3.6?

I wouldn't mind a bit more oomph towing. My Overland (ordered 5/19, delivered 7/19) does a decent job of towing my 27', 5,100 lb (with all we want or need) travel trailer but, there are times it reminds me it's only a V6. Easily dealt with, just drop a gear or two and motor on but, still...

For sure, we tow with ours, and it's lacking.

We totally would have bought a reasonably charged V8.

But no matter how many stars I wish upon, it's not a thing, even if someone on Youtube says it is, and I really want it to be.

A base Sport Gladiator with a V8 isn't really what I'm looking for. I wanted a Rubicon so I could throw a lift and a few minor mods on it and hit the trail. I have massive respect for guys who rip the guts out and start over, but my truck is my daily and not used as a hardcore wheeling machine. I would be interested in a V8, depending on specs (bhp, torque, MPG, range, towing) but I also know cramming the 3.0 turbo diesel in the JL/JT engine bay caused significant cooling problems that no one seems to have been able to fully solve.

One of the major hangups I have with Jeep is the quality issues. I still have roof leaks on my freedom top despite having all new gaskets installed by the dealer, my rear window leaks, the rear defroster doesn't work, my hood is rusting... I love how fun my truck is, but I could buy a 1968 Chevy and have fewer holes in my cab.

I voted no, and for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I really like the balance of power and economy that my 3.6 gives me. If I needed a little more "umph" I would simply regear my Gladiator to run the 3.6 a bit higher in the rev range, it would give enough for any purpose I would have for a Gladiator. Secondly, the internet horror stories about all 3.6 engines having an inevitable cam or rocker failure are just that, internet stories. Such a small number of 3.6 Pentastar Upgrade engines fail, compared to the vast number that never, ever have a problem.

That's just addressing the 3.6 engines. Another reason I voted no is not because I don't want the V8 option for those who want it, but because I will not pay the price for any vehicle that I have to roll up my own windows on. A V8 sport is not for me, personally, but when I buy a vehicle I buy mid to upper trim levels. If Jeep releases a V8 Gladiator, it will definitely be a budget buster.

Now if you had included the 3.0 Disaster, I mean Hurricane, in the poll things would be different. Still a NO vote, but with all those choice words that I picked up in Boot camp in front of the NO. I have worked on them, and I would be banned for life if I spoke out about them the way I feel.

I might trade for a Mojave with a 5.7

I don’t understand why a V8 is a sub $3k upgrade in a Ram, but a Wrangler is $100k
Name Brand it goes from being a 5.7 Ram to a 5.7 Jeep and you know hoe people will fall for that. The rumor is it will say Jeep on the valve pan covers and be painted in Joose Orange and Mojito only available in the top trim and have 850hp..🤫🙄🤭
