Does anyone have this head unit installed yet? I'm liking the features, and am leaning more towards this one verses going with the 8.4 upgrade.

So obviously it will work with the factory front and rear camera, but how many more cameras can we add past that will it support?
Also, will the additional cameras display in HD like the factory cameras. (Of course if I bought additional HD cameras)
Hey David,
The included module and harness allows for the 2 factory forward and rear cameras that are HD. There are also 3 additional RCA ports for cameras (which won't produce the same quality as the factory camera harness, but will still provide a high quality image on a 10" screen.

Does this retain the factory Sirius function?

Also do the factory USB units still work to read and charge. I read with the inns audio unit the factory USB will still charge but won't read, you have to use the port on the radio itself.

Got my Heigh10 in the mail yesterday, took just about a week to get it... not too bad. Planning on installing it this weekend and I'll update with how it goes. I couldn't help myself so I opened it up to check it out. :CWL: It came delivered in a plain brown box with two smaller boxes inside, the Heigh10 itself in one box and the installation kit in the other. First impressions with the installation kit: holy $h*t it takes a ton of adapters and cables to make this thing work in the Gladiator! I was a mobile A/V installer for 10+ years back in the 90s/2000s, boy how times have changed! First impressions of the Heigh10 itself: Very well packaged and presentation when you open it up. Lots of padding and filler to protect each part of the unit itself. The screen itself is flawless and it looks like something that you would expect OEM quality to be. Good weight to it as well it doesn't feel cheap by any means, as it should because it is not cheap! :like:

I am very much leaning towards getting this. Cannot wait to see your install. Love the garage page. It will work great with my supercharger. Was also thinking it would be cool to see the drive modes if I install the MP3022 transfer case.

I got mine installed. the installation was pretty smooth up until the point of trying to cram all the wires into the dash. that was a challenge. I didnt time it, but it took me (what seemed like) an hour or more of rearranging wires, the siriusXM tuner and the HD camera module. It is possible, just be aware its going to take some time to get everything arranged just right, also try to STAY CALM during this time, ha. It can get frustrating trying fit it all in there. Impressions so far: It does retain all factory vehicle settings (yes, even the aux switch behavior, tire fill alert, crosspath detection, forward collision sensor....etc. you name it). Works great with the oem premium alpine system, only issue ive seen with that is it appears that its not able to fade front to back for some reason, but it can from left to right. The 15 Band EQ really brings out a lot more life to the factory speakers, puts the 3 band factory EQ to shame. The screen is quick to respond to touch, but it does take a bit to boot up when you first start the jeep (I'd estimate about 5-10 seconds slower than the factory 7" I had). Apple Carplay works just fine, navigation looks amazing on it compared to the 7" oem.

The only bugs I've found (these are minor annoyances, nothing major) so far are:
twice i've had an error saying rear camera not available when I try to select the factory backup cam from their camera app, but it will bring up the camera feed just fine if I switch to reverse gear. audio Fader front to back (as mentioned above). If you start the jeep in the garage where SiriusXM can't get a signal it will display 'No Signal' at the top of the screen and that pop up will get stuck there, I have found no way to clear it even after it gets the signal when you pull out of the garage. To get rid of it, you have to turn off the jeep and reboot outside where the antenna has a clear view of the sky from the get go. Also, related to SiriusXM, it will not pull in the radio station logos, it just shows a generic SXM logo where the station graphic should be. I've been working with customer support on the 'No Signal' pop up and the station logo issue. So far to trouble shoot, we've done the following to non avail: double checked the firmware version, used the reset button on the front of the radio, pulled the radio back out and unplug the main vehicle harness for 30 sec or so then reconnect, unplug and plug back in the siriusXM tuner, reset the RadioPro module.

Again the bugs listed above are minor annoyances, so far the radio has absolutely met expectations. I was looking for a head unit that could retain all factory vehicle settings, had a large screen, gave me greater control over the audio, has expandability for external amps in the future, works with the factory alpine system, doesnt require you to dismantle the entire dash, stays around a reasonable price point (while understanding the days of the $300 aftermarket head unit are over given the heavy integration required these days) and looks good. This thing checked all those boxes.

Dang, that looks nice. I’d love it if someone would do an unbiased review and comparison with the Insane Audio JL3001 head unit.

I considered insane as well, along with the Alpine unit. As far as insane goes, last I checked, they couldn’t control all of the vehicle settings. They told me they’re going to include them in future updates, but they didn’t provide any indication of how long that would take. That was a big one for me, particularly since I regularly use my auxiliary switches and needed the ability to control how they behave. Also, the insane unit does not support a SiriusXM tuner, also important to me. To get around that, you need to use the SiriusXM streaming app (which also requires you have one of the upgraded Sirius subscriptions to allow streaming) while you tether the head unit to your phone’s wireless hotspot or stream via your phone through Apple CarPlay. I didn’t really care for how reliant their head unit would be on my phone’s data plan (I don’t have unlimited data). I can definitely see the appeal though, looks a like it could be a great head unit if you’re okay with some concessions.

But seriously, thanks for taking the time to post impressions. While the system itself does look fantastic, it just seems a bit overkill for me personally for the cost and effort involved. I'm not much of an audiophile anyway, so I think I can get by just fine with the upgraded Alpine system for now.

I’m at the point where I’m trying to stuff everything in the dash and I just can’t seem to get it. It seems like I’ve been spending more than an hour trying to stuff wires in. I have my satellite radio tuner in the dash. Not sure how the camera module is supposed to sit.

I have only done the bench prep so far and I followed the video on YouTube directions. I’m planning on doing the actual install later this week or weekend so I’ll see how mine goes :fingerscrossed:

I was able to make it work by putting the HD Camera module on the left (driver side) towards the firewall on top of the air vent duct. Then the SiriusXM tuner on the passenger side against the firewall on top the vent duct. Do your best to route your cables to each of those so that you’re not tangled much with the rest of the wire harness . Also Try to Make sure the main vehicle harness plug is shoved all the way up against the firewall in the small V shaped opening between the duct work. thats about the best advise I’ve got.....its very cramped!

Quick update on the bugs I mentioned previously:

twice i've had an error saying rear camera not available when I try to select the factory backup cam from their camera app, but it will bring up the camera feed just fine if I switch to reverse gear.
—-this hasn’t happened again. Not sure to reproduce it.

audio Fader front to back (as mentioned above).
—This seems to have been corrected by some of the trouble shooting I’ve done. I’m thinking Maybe resetting the RadioPro module corrected it.

—I haven’t found any fix for this. Jourdan at stinger customer support is working with the engineers to see if they can reproduce it.

Also, related to SiriusXM, it will not pull in the radio station logos, it just shows a generic SXM logo where the station graphic should be.
—Jourdan at stinger customer support has confirmed the Heigh10 is unable to display the SiriusXM station logo graphics. This is not a software issue, it’s actually hardware related (I’m thinking maybe ram or something, didn’t ask). So this is what it is, there will be no fix for it or future software implementation for it.
