My 2018 JL takes the Y07 update which isn't out yet. The Y01 is for the new ones. Not sure when Y07 will be out.
Dealer tech said update maybe another month or two.

Mine was at the dealer today for software update appointment. Got a call today Jeep is ready did not have correct software available, not sure when they’ll get it. Confirmed ahead of time about the update, now they don’t have it. Losing time from work as well. So now it gets to go a third time for the clutch. They need to install a better clutch.
Sorry to hear that. I had posted earlier in this thread that the campaign had been split into two.
Y07 does not have an ETA yet but once it does, I will share.

Recently regeared my manual trans and this will be the first time I’ve ever brought truck in with a Tazer.
Any idea if this software update will reset my gear ratio and tire size to stock?

Unmarry the Tazer. Get the update, tnen remarry and reset the gear ratio. I would not recommend leaving the Tazer married and taking it to the dealer.

I bought the extension for the security plug wires, or whatever they are, and it makes life MUCH easier when taking a trip to the dealer. $40 well spent.

Has anyone's new factory built Gladiator been flashed and shipped yet? My order was scheduled to ship on Feb 15, but was held for the recall. It still hasn't shipped and according to Jeep Chat is being held for "Quality Inspections." Any info would be great.
STILL waiting on mine. Was supposed to be on a train from Ohio to NY then dealer 2 or so weeks ago. Just found out this week that it never made the train. They are now looking to have it trucked direct to the dealer. Estimated time April 4th through the 19th! Ordered 01/09/21. Jeep Cares said 03/22-04/05 prior to this weeks news. Pisser is the flash was done in February, 25th or 26th they said.

First time Jeep buyer, not too impressed right now. Broncos might be out by the time my JTR arrives.

My wife's Sarge Green Overland is still in Toledo as far as we know. The dealer has been useless in finding out what is going on. As far as they know it is in a warehouse in Toledo and isn't scheduled to be recalled until April 1.
it finally came in today and we picked it up this afternoon.

One big problem is that there is no room next to the clutch pedal to rest your foot. I see a lot of Jeep drivers using the clutch pedal as a foot rest.

Does anyone have a fix for this? I'm thinking a pedal linkage that is offset a couple of inched towards the brake pedal. looks like it might be made of plastic, which would make it difficult to modify.

Nice color! Same I ordered, still waiting for mine.
I was looking to see if anyone came up with a dead pedal yet. Nothing. If I ever get mine I ordered I will see about making something.

Quadratec does sell a dead pedal if that’s what you’re looking for

That's not the problem. the problem is that there isn't enough room between the clutch pedal and the side panel to put my foot down. See the attached photo. There is room to move the clutch and break pedals to the right and make more room, but they chose not to. It seems like the manufiacturers are doing everything they can to discourage people from ordering manual transmissions. This is not going to be a easy fix.

Let's follow the money here for a second. The stock clutch and pressure plate from Mopar through Quadratec runs $530 (granted, that's aftermarket retail and their in house cost will be considerably lower.) Rough estimate on shop rate for any dealership is $150/hr. Very rough estimate on time to r&r by trained tech is 6 hours. Total manual transmissions to receive clutch and pressure plate replacement is 43,000 units. Parts come to around $23,000,000 plus labor of about $39,000,000 comes to an approximate total of $62,000,000. I don't think a service tech in North Carolina is authorized to override the decision of Stellantis to just install the software flash as they have indicated will be the only official fix in this recall in favor of spending sixty-two million dollars. If the service tech is referencing the prior recall, clutch kits were replaced only if the vehicle failed the dump test. This may still be in effect as a final test to see if damage has already been done to the original clutch, but swapping all of them out if they pass seems redundant and quite expensive.

As for an increase of power, I think that every single automobile manufacturer would like to have a word with him as to the miracle of a power generating clutch assembly. This seems like a very dubious statement to make unless the tech is referring to the heat energy created through friction, which in this case does indeed create power. Granted, that particular thermal power is catastrophic, but I suppose in the most basic of terms energy is power. This claim is also counter to the fix. The software flash will decrease torque under certain conditions. If his claim that the overall power will actually increase, then this will elevate the possibility that the conditions that decrease the torque will be met sooner and more often.

There is also an aspect to the service technician's statements to you that make it all too questionable, and that is this is exactly what we all want to hear: New clutch assembly (hopefully improved and upgraded), an unavoidable nanny that would seem near impossible to activate, and to top everything off an increase in power. I would think that this might be something for Jeep to advertise and rub in the faces of any competitors. They can apparently now turn lemons into lemonade, pun intended. They can install a recall fix and actually increase power by doing so, making the vehicle even more desirable and competitively stronger. If that's the case, then I can't wait for the next recall.

I'm not disputing you or what the technician said to you, I have no reason to believe any of that is false. I just have a high degree of skepticism regarding the actual information. I also hope that you find a different technician as this one will be in extremely high demand if what he told you is indeed the truth.
I took my 2020 Gator in for the software update and gear box upgrade. My tech told me that the software update was unavailable atm. This was last week. All I drove away with was the new gear box. I think they are rethinking just doing a software update.

Manual Wranglers have been this way since atleast the JK starting in 2006. Nothing new to scare people off manuals.
You sit upright in a Jeep, like sitting in a dining chair with your feet flat on the floor, not stretched out like a recliner the way many cars are.
I got used to it quickly, most people do, but at first it’s odd.

I'm a bit confused. Why did they replace your gearbox? There haven't been issues with the transmission, the recall focuses only on the clutch.
