Just ordered some cameras today, along with a locking gas cap. I have cameras inside the house, not outside. Stupid me.
Varooom
What cap are you buying?
might do the same myself.
And some hood locks.

They left evidence of the vandalism so you didn't drive it. Might need to invest in a camera or two. I'd rather someone punch me in the face than mess with one of my vehicles, that's a scum-bag move.
reminds me of pulp fiction. I almost posted a YouTube link, but every other word is NSFW language.

I understand not everyone can live in a safe neighborhood like myself. And by taking proactive countermeasures you can prevent any type of malcontent towards your property is the smartest thing you can do. But, my concern would be why did it happen on the only day you didn't incorporate your countermeasures? Seems like someone very close to you was/is watching and either played a trick or has a grudge.

Sorry guys, no exciting back story. I believe it happened during the Superbowl as that is the only time the garage door was open. Yes, it was in the garage. I took the Jeep out that morning to get some beer and brats for the game (also filled the gas tank). I usually close the garage door but for some reason I left it open. I did not close it until after the game when I went to bed. Garage door has been closed and I have not driven it since. Noticed the white crystal stuff Thursday evening when I went in the garage to get a tool. I am Widowed and don't have any enemies (that I know of). I am totally baffled. Someone just walking down the sidewalk with a bag of sugar says "hey, that garage door is open, I think I will dump my sugar in the gas tank.
I did call the cops. just to make a report and see if this is a trend around here.
I will have time tomorrow to drop the tank and go from there.
Thanks for all the advice,
Varooom
I would go with post #32 pull the filler hose assembly an clean it out . As you stated not been driven, filled tank and parked and what I see in the picture on post #32 I am going to say the filler tube was dry and what sugar is in there never made it in to the tank its still hanging around in the filler tube . And IF some made it into the tank it would be very little to worry about .

All of my outdoor cameras are these. They work indoors as well.
Never had a problem with the refurbished.

That happened to me I changed the oil on my motorcycle on a gravel drive and the neighbor across the alley must have been watching . I put everything up tools empty oil bottles an went in the house to wash my hands the went out to get the bike and found a puddle of oil under the oil pan area got on my knees and was looking all over for a leak then I heard laughing across the alleyway.... he got me good that day .

If you have not driven it or put gas in it after the sugar
Remove the hose at the tank and simply flush the fill hose
You will know as soon as you remove the hose at the tank if any made it that far

Funny, they did not touch my Challenger or the two vehicles outside. This is just getting weirder.

Look for new owners of Ford Bronco's in your neighborhood..... There's your motive!!!

Oops! I see someone else beat me to that logical conclusion. But you know, two minds are better than one. I think it's a definite possibility!

Well then, I'll just go about my day. I was waiting for that crazy redhead story or the psycho ex seeking revenge. Sorry for your lose and your Jeep.
Was her name Tiffany?
What is it about redheads and/or crazy exes, right?!?!? One of my ex-wives is literally crazy and redhead!!! but what can you expect from a woman whose mother's name is literally Cinderella (I kid you not).

Totally unrelated story and a bit of a hijack but this just popped in my head and I have to get it out because I haven't thought about it in years: In my 30's and between many divorces, I dated a gal for a few months and we ultimately broke up because she was offended that I religiously paid my child support. Not really relevant but in retrospect... So a few marriages/divorces and many years later, my buddy, who was my roommate back then, sends me a link to a local media source back where we had lived when I dated her. Apparently she had become a nurse since we had dated and had just begun a trial where she had been accused of killing her grandmother. Man, I dodged a bullet (or syringe of morphine) there!!! LOL

Back to the regularly scheduled ridiculousness...

Well now I have an idea for April Fool's.

Just pour a little bit on the ground below the filler.

<taster's choice voice> Let's see who notices.
