HA - FCA can't touch a privately run enterprise.
I run a forum and no one tells me and my partner what to do unless or until we do something criminal or liable.
Oh, I thought since JeepCares was all over this it was somehow associated with FCA. My bad.

What’s weird is my second Glad is 12/14 at 12am. I have over 1200 miles and not one light yet. I keep following this thread because I’m waiting for it around 8000 miles.

Just dropped mine at the dealer this morning for this issue - ESS lights on and off for a few days and then the dreaded check engine light with P0300 code. Here is my info:

Build date: 08/15
Mileage when occurred: Noticeable cold start rough idle started about two months ago but it had no other issues so I didn't think anything of it, ESS lights on and off started about 16,000 miles, CEL/P0300 popped right at 16,436 miles
How many occurrences: Rough idle on cold start has been noticeable for about two months, ESS on and off for about a week, CEL/P0300 first time two days ago (26th of August)
Exact codes: P0300
Issue ongoing?: Y
What has been done? Dropped truck off at dealership today for repair @ 16,475 miles on odometer
Issue resolved? N

Update: Dropped off at dealership this morning for the 2nd time. Thanks to this thread I requested they look at the compression in cylinders 2,4,6. They will submit an inquiry to STARS? and said they have dealt with one other truck with the same issue. Hopefully this means I've skipped step 2 and gone to step 3.

GlacierGladiator, if the below edit doesn't include all MDH info needed please PM me.

Side question that can be sent via PM: What is STARS? I'm assuming the warranty arm of FCA.

**********************************************************************

Date of Mfg: 11-19
MDH: 111822 505AA
Mileage when it first occurred: 461 miles
How many times has it occurred: 2
What exact codes did it throw: P0300
Is the issue on going? Yes
If so, what has been done to try to solve the issue? First visit "cleared code and test drove vehicle. Light did not come back on this time."
Was the issue ever fully resolved? Not yet

CEL and ESS

Anyone in the NE Dallas area with a recommended service department? One perhaps with experience with this issue?

The STAR team is their support team that tries to tackle these deeper issues. It basically means they are upgrading the issue internally to a team that is allegedly more capable of handling the request and is better equipped to get shit done.

That said, my 2012 JKUR that had the cylinder head issue was escalated to STAR and it still took like 6 months for them to figure out a solution - which ended up being a buyback.

I got Jeepcares involed with my bed cover - they contacted another online person to follow me through the process. I went to the dealer - they balked, but did make contact with the number I gave them. Star case was opened - bed cover was replaced thanks to that. As one person at the dealership said after my arguing with the service writer a bit "yeah, Jeep as a whole team dedicated to this stuff"...... likely referring to STAR - the deeper, more complex, less straight-forward stuff.
My take - if a "STAR case" was mentioned, you have some hope at least.

Quick update on mine that I just dropped off this morning for the very first CEL - they are telling me a fix was released today (gave me the date August 28th, 2020) that directly addresses the P0300 misfire code with an update to the PCM. They are telling me it's ready for pickup.

I'll have the TSB or PCM update number when I pick the truck up and will update everyone with that as well as how it's driving and if the issue reoccurs. Based on the responses here and how my symptoms are identical to everyone else's, I'm not sure what they could have done in a flash to the PCM that will correct this issue.

Really....
Well, PCM handles injector timing and fuel amount, timing of the individual cylinders as far as spark and other fun stuff..... Fingers crossed. Won't address the physical issues some see, on the other hand, sometimes 2 or 3 things can cause similar or even same symptoms. Do you have a cold, the flu, or covid-19? And you can feel fine and still be sick.

LOL...another software release. I've heard that several times with mine. I guess they'll be calling me today to say mine is ready. Good luck

Well just came back from the dealership and now they are going to put cams in it too. They found flat spots on the lobes, which they believe is causing the misfires. I’m not to convinced but we’ll see next week if it worked.
