I have enough weight in the back that my Gladiator feels a little like a boat on the water (side to side sway). Especially noticeable when cornering. The tech at my local 4x4 shop recommended replacing the rear sway bar with a more heavy duty Hellwig rear sway bar. Not sure if that is what you are experiencing, but passing the info along.

What tire pressure are you running, mine kinda gets squirrelly at pressure below 40 on hwy and I-state speeds.

Iam guessing there's a compromise somewhere having a truck with good articulating suspension vs. pulling weight/work truck stuff. I put the factory rubicon springs and shocks on my sport S and it was a big improvement over the soft stock suspension. That's good enough for me but I don't haul anything serious.

The Fox shocks on the Rubicon are under dampen. The shocks need about 15% more dampening.

I'm putting on Bilstein 5100 this weekend.

If you don't have LT tires, they'll have stiffer side walls and better cornering as a result.

I have LT load range E tires and Bilstein 5100s. Feels solid and handles well, but you feel the little bumps more.

I noticed on my '21 Sport diesel (stock) on a wet and windy road the back end was all over the place especially downhill. I did not expect to have to slow down on some turns that much recently.. no idea why its like that either..

My ‘21 Rubicon was the same. Sitting empty in the driveway, it’s just below GVWR. Got much worse once you put any weight in the back. All of the above recommendations help. In order of impact, here’s what worked best for me:
  1. Replaced the stock shocks with Bilstein B8 8100 bypass shocks.
  2. Added Air Ride adjustable helper springs.
  3. Added the Hellwig heavy duty adjustable sway bar.
These are a big improvement, but still left a little bit to be desired. Finally opted for HD Clayton springs. Hopefully picking up today. We’ll see how it goes. Keeping the old springs just in case…

@Rusty PW how was the shock install? Are you happy with the ride?

An AEV suspension with Bilsteins tightened up most of the softness on my JTR. I ran Bilstein 5100s for 20 years on my last truck so I knew they'd probably do the trick.

How do you like the adjustability of those B8 8100's?? they're not cheap at all but from some videos I have seen they look like a pretty amazing option for an out of the box shock.
