hello All- Quick opinions -Will I see better handling on loose gravel Forest Service and logging type roads, typically washed out with 12-24+ inch plus ruts at all angles across the road grade if I install and use aftermarket quick disconnects? I have never had disconnects before and this is also my first JT.

Driving: Not real hard sketchy stuff but definitely way out in the boonies, steep terrain and water fording included.

2024 Willys model (so, no front lockers), 2" AEV lift, 32.75" (measured) tires- fairly heavy load, maybe 50-75% max payload, no trailer. Relatively easy and effective mod??? I'm guessing, yes.

Is not having front lockers the determining factor here in my case? Seems likely- Thanks!

I'm thinking these?

I have them. Pulled the Clayton heim joint ones I had on because they were annoying. Only thing that gave me hesitation was whacking off one of the ears on the passenger side axle sway bar mounting. Factory has a full passthrough bolt and JKS only uses one side of it for the disconnect pin. Grab the install instructions and take a hard look at that piece and determine if it’s an issue for you.

If you’re considering quick disconnects look at Anti-Rock as well. I prefer those over the disconnects. They save me time and temper futzing around trying to find flat ground to reconnect sway bars.

I absolutely love my Apex quick disconnects. Far as I'm concerned best on the market.

To answer your question, yes, disconnecting on a 2 inch lift will improve the quality of your ride driving even on some mild off road terrain.

The type of disconnect you choose also determines wether it is worth the effort.

I had links with quick removal pins that were a big pain to deal with. I rarely disco'd with those.
I also had a used rubicon bar with the manual knob which was super quick and easy.

The auto lynx look nice, but if I had to choose now, I would most likely consider the airlynx. Seems like a smart person could set those to disco remote.

Score another one for a Rubicon disconnect. You can easily find a nonfunctioning one on eBay or Facebook Market and convert it to manual disconnect.

I hear ya' Tarnation... definitely a concern. I think I can deal with that as long it makes a righteous improvement- not rock crawling here- I don't mind the cutting, but yea, you are definitely committed after that. thx.

Disconnects are awesome, even on mild fire roads. Really smooths it out.

I would not buy anything but Apex Auto Lynx. Pricey, but miles better than any of the stuff that requires you to cut tabs off the axle or lay under the truck to reconnect.

This is the way. Made this change several years back. So easy and so effective. It's tucked up out of the way, no cutting of any kind needed and pretty readily available on Marketplace for a good price.

Maybe I'm blind, or a bit retarded, but how do those "disconnect" and also maintain anti-sway capabilities for high speed on road use?
