My wife claims I have a bald spot. The kids seem to agree. I say they lie.
My grandfather used to say you can't grow two crops in the same field

They are so much more than that. So much more. They auto disconnect under 15-20mph on the road, they stay disconnected at full speed in desert mode, but instantly reconnect if you turn, to prevent a high speed roll. They’re completely disconnected in off road mode regardless of steering. They’re not cheap, but not much more than some of the other expensive options, and add so much more functionality.
Save the money toward hair transplant. You will know that it's disconnect after a few hard turns 😂

On this truck I opted out of $3,000 worth of suspension and steering that my other Jeep had, so I settled on $500 worth of end links.

Life is about balance 🥴 😄
You’re not wrong. The addiction got the better of me. But that doesn’t make nice parts less awesome. But they’re so not necessary. They’re fun. I don’t have boats anymore. This is the replacement for that much more expensive hobby.

What I have left dries in seconds. No towel needed.
Things dry fast in Colorado. That’s what we tell the kids when they spill water on themselves. 🤷

I’m with shadows. When it goes, it can stay gone. I occasionally shave it just for a change.

I'm not sure I would trust a computer controlled disconnect in the desert. If the difference between rolling my truck at 100mph comes down to my sway bar deciding to reconnect or not that doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. I don't like the feeling of the sway bar disconnected at speed even going straight not have I ever felt the desire to disconnect at low speeds on the street. I could see the advantages but call me old school. I prefer to be in control and know when I'm disconnected or not. Just like lockers and drive modes and 4A. I have been able to manage all that for 30 years of wheeling. What's next, full self driving? Might as well just watch videos of someone else doing the trails at that point.

Don't let me fool you - I have lift kits listed in my 'Gladiator Planning Tool'. The time may well come 😄

I nearly bought a boat.

We decided we needed a tractor instead. Now I have two 4x4s! You guys thought modding a Jeep was bottomless. These little guys are just as bad.

I barely trust the entire computer controlled truck in the desert 🤪

I haven't paid for a hair cut in 30+ years and mines not even thinning yet. It grows until I might have to think about brushing/combing it and then the clippers come out. The last set of clippers lasted me almost 20 years so probably 30 cents a hair cut. Thee best part of shaving it is the first few weeks I don't even need shampoo. Bar of soap and I'm done. Maybe I could justify the wild disconnects if I remind the wife I've saved thousands on hair cuts? Of course she'll probably point at the gun safe and laugh about my selective frugality?

You know exactly when they are. So planted. And auto mode is an option, but not required. One can still choose to disconnect or connect at will. So many things on these things are controlled and monitored with computers. These just borrow some of the data to enhance it. Their shocks for example absolutely make it a safer vehicle. On and off road. I can handle more angle with better stability offroad, and have far less chance of breaking something with an unexpected ledge drop, for one example. On road, it handles like a tall Camry at 80mph, even attached to a trailer.

Pretty much the same. I got cuts for a while because I liked that they had whiskey. But haven’t for a long time.

I’d like to talk to you about the tractor sometime if you’re willing. It’s on our 2026 list.

I am far from a genius but I researched sub compacts until I was cross eyed - so I may be able to offer *some* useful information.
