I’ve been running EDT and thinking of switching to Opt-lube XPD. How does everyone measure the .25 - .5oz and dispense into your tank?

EDT has the nice pipetting bottle that lets me put 1-2oz a fill in.

I use an empty EDT bottle.

I've used both edt and opti lube. I honestly haven't noticed a difference in either one. Opti lube says better fuel mileage (I call BS) hasn't gone up or down. I've noticed my Opti lube separating. Must be the lubricant they use. Maybe waxes or something. I don't think it matters IMHO.

Good to know. It was partly the reviews I’ve been seeing about Opti-Lube (and people here), also it seems easier to get 1+ gallon volumes here.

Huh. Found a supplier for the 1 gallon jugs of EDT. I’ve only been finding the winter stuff, as Canada already adds anti gelling agents in the winter, I didn’t think the winter stuff was needed.

According to independent testing, Opti-Lube has the best lubricity outside of B2 Biodiesel. That's why I run Opti-Lube as a daily additive. I bought plastic disposable measuring cups and use them to measure out product. I can usually get a year out of a cup before throwing it away. I keep the cup in a ziploc bag to isolate the smell and keep the cup clean. Here's a link: Amazon.com: GUSTO [25 Count - 10 oz.] Multipurpose Disposable Plastic Measuring Cups - Baking, Cooking, Epoxy Resin, Mixing & Measuring Cups (Formerly Comfy Package)

I put 445,000 miles on a Gen 2 Ecodiesel and never used additives beyond a single bottle.

Stock HPFP went to like 370,000 miles, before I replaced it with another stock HPFP, in my office parking lot.
Good fuel makes a big difference. Below is a video that shows a guy who logged 892,316 miles on his factory CP4 pump. He religiously used a fuel additive. When they took the CP4 pump apart to inspect, it looked excellent! Good fuel lubricity is super important!

Well, I frequently used vegetable oil, must have been high in lubricity 😂

If you are looking for the best lubricity and don't need the anti-gel especially in summer go with Opti-lubes XL (Extreme Lube). Much cheaper than their XPD additive and only need 2OZ per tank. I switched from hotshots after seeing the HFRR score numbers from the testing done with the majority of additives.

I buy a gallon of their XL and mix 2oz of it with 1oz of their summer blend to get a cetane boost.

I got a pack of 4oz glass bottles and small ammo can to keep the additives in. Never smell anything with this set up and easy to keep clean and mess free.
