Until that whip antenna catches on a branch or bush backing up and whips back chipping the windshield in the process. Interesting you don't fit, how big is your lift. The JLUR with 3.5" lift and 39s still fits fine. My gladiator with 3.5" lift and 37s fits. Are you 5" lifted and 40"+ on the tires?

Just Clayton 2.5" overland plus kit. But I do have an alucab contour canopy and rtt set up. I've never had a windshield chip from a whipping antenna. My ham antenna is even longer; I guess it would hit my roof rather than my windshield though. I hope I just didn't jinx myself.

I would like to know for those of you who have Rubicon, what was something that you guys felt was a necessary mod?

Aside from tires and a lift.

What improved your overall experience with your Rubicon?

I’m planning to keep mine stock for about a year, take it on a couple of trips, and then see what my limitations are for the vehicle.

Would love to know your guys input.

For me and my Mojave it was tires. 35's just look and feel so much better and definitely help on trails. That was a priority for me.

Im looking to go to 35's also as soon as the factory ones wear down more. What specific size did you go with? Im looking at the Nitto trail grapplers in 35x11.50 r17 to keep the stock width on stock wheels.

I think a winch is a fairly necessary first mod especially if you'll be going out alone. Besides that, do what you said, go on trips and figure out what you need based on those trips.

This. I wheel alone sometimes. Even when I don't, there have been several times that a winch was necessary and a strap would not work.

As my Jeep eventually wound up a few inches taller than when I started, I kept the stock antenna. Simply put, it's just a tad taller than the roof so it makes a good height gauge; if I'm pulling into a parking garage I go slow, prepared to brake quickly if the antenna hits something!

I noticed an immediate improvement when I added the Falcon pass through stabilizer, on the stolen Mojave I had the adjustable 2.1, kept it on medium, on the replacement Mojave I have the Falcon 1.1 pass through, not as beefy looking but seems to do the same job. If I lived where there were big open highways with 75mph speeds I'd want the adjustable again because on firm/high the steering felt very tight at speed

Wonder if those Badland winches are built well. May think about one, but the obvious choice would be a WARN.
