Do the tines have a rib in them for strength? Wonder how they hold up to stupid things like rocks.
I have a fox hole shovel for digging and a machete for zombies. (In a past life, I was a western martial artist so machetes and swords are a natural thing for me.)

The tines are deformed into a shallow "V" for added strength. Their marketing material says:

• Manufactured using Heavy Duty 13 gauge heat treated tempered steel. Twice as thick as a normal residential shovel.
• Reinforced teeth to prevent bending and breaking.
• Powder coated both inside and out from the head to handle area to prevent rust.
