Things to check before buying used gladiator rubicon

Iam looking at a used jtr today with about 30k miles. So far Iam going to be looking for:

-leaky axles
-bad steering
-engine ticking

Anyone one else have any good ideas on what to look for?

Scratches on the skid plates? Does it lean to one side? Oil leaks? Are the door pins still installed?

- Rear locker
- steering box

I'd add those to the list as well.

Hood edges, hood and door hinges for paint bubbling I would add to what has already been said.

Here is what has been replaced under warranty
I am at 50,000 miles I may miss an item
RADIO,DS LOCK SWITCH,VALVE COVER GASKETS,STEERING BOX,STEERING DAPHNER,BRAKES,CALIPERS,ROTORS,BOTH BATTERIES,INNER FENDER LINER,NEW TODAY ALL BALL JOINTS
Issues not addressed- leaking rear window, paint bubbles on hood .Probably built on a HANGOVER MONDAY or PARTYING FRIDAY during covid.
I LOVE THIS VEHICLE - GET ONE

Fixed that for you

I'd look for scrapes on the frame and control arms, that will tell you how much it's been wheeled.

Guys, the jtr was very nice but the dealer didn't want to give me much for my sport s jt. Thanks for all of the advice however

**Update**

We made a deal and I put a deposit on the jtr. Waiting on the title for my sport to finalize the deal.

I used the checklist linked above and it was very helpful. Everything checked out except it idled a little rough on cold startup. The sales guy did turn the AC on first thing. It smoothed out minutes later when I was checking 4 low, front/rear lockers and swabar disconnect.

Of course they offered me a non mopar warranty with no deductible if I take the jtr to them. With any other dealer it's $200. Coverage is 4 years /72000 miles through CNA national for $1500. Might be a good investment.

Needless to say I can't wait to get this truck.

We have CNA national warranty too. 10 yrs/150,000 miles. But you can still obtain a Mopar warranty.
