If Jeep produced a full-sized truck, then I suspect it would be similar to the Ram 1500 in size. Jeep hasn't produced a full-sized truck since the 1980s. The full-sized Jeep Gladiator in the 1970s was available in different sizes (1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton)

That's the look people were hoping for with the modern Gladiator.

It would be a nice look for a full-size truck. As much as I love Ram, it would be great to see another truck in the Stellantis lineup. I think Jeep would be the perfect match. In my opinion, FCA made a mistake by separating Dodge and Ram. Ram should have stayed under Dodge.

Most people don't know this, but the PT Cruiser was designated as a truck. Before that, Chrysler made a few trucks in for Hollywood.

The Gladiator is a lot of fun empty but it is short on low-end torque and not what I would consider a good tow vehicle. Maybe at slow speeds it is okay, but not at highway speeds with all the wind resistance.
Not my experience at all - nor those in the "what are you towing" thread here.
I can keep the speed limits in our hills just fine, towing 5,000+ pounds.

It will not tow another car, a dump trailer, a piece of equipment like a Bobcat.
It won't? You'd better have a talk with mine, then.

It is a matter of opinion. It surprises me what some people tow with a 3.6L Gladiator and say it "tows fine". I must have have higher expectations of what "tows fine" means.

I've noticed that some - not implying you - but some, judge by RPM and figure if it has to go over 4,000 RPM, it's not good. But - my Silverado with the LS engine had to wind up 5,000 to make the hills here, and my F250 - I could floor it and it would slow down on the hills.

I think we agree in the end - it's rather subjective.

Towing expectations are very subjective. I'm careful not to criticize people for what they are towing. Not long ago, I stumbled across a Ford Maverick towing thread. I was happy to see the amount of enthusiasm that Maverick owners had for their trucks and towing potentials. And like clockwork, it didn't take long for the towing police to show up and criticize everyone.

I get it, the Ford F550 is more capable than the F450. And the F450 is more capable than the F350. And the F350 is more capable than the F250. And the F250 is more capable than the F150. And the F150 is more capable than the Ranger. And the Ranger is more capable than the Maverick. At some point, we need stop lecturing people about their towing choices. Not everyone has an endless supply of money to own 3 - 4 vehicles for every occasion.

One of my current vehicles is a 2017 F-150 regular cab. I am thinking about trading it in for a crew cab pickup with lower mileage, but I am in the early stages of a new business and don’t want to spend the extra money right now to get another F—150. There is a dealer near me with a 2023 Rubicon that has 9k miles on it. If I traded in my F-150, I would owe about 8 grand. Financially it makes sense. I want to hear opinions on what it’s like to go from a full size pickup to a Gladiator. I take the ATVs and SXS to different trails, I pull a Ranger Bass Boat, and I occasionally use my truck to trailer other things. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
I'm late to the thread, but here's my take.

If you need a full size truck then you will be disappointed in the Gladiator. That's not to say the JT is a bad truck, it's isn't; it's a great midsize truck. If you need a full size truck then you might as well buy a screwdriver when you need to drive a nail; it's the wrong tool for the job.

Every single time I see someone complaining about the JT being "a bad truck" it's because they were too thick to assess their needs and are now mad at the screwdriver for being a shitty hammer.

Agreed. It will do it all day long. Don't tow the boat's a lot, but keeping it at posted speed limits, it has worked just fine.

Dang. I tow a little 16' bowrider and find it shitty...especially over train tracks at 80kmh. Moving around town ain't bad, but country highway with hills not so much.

Gladiator is a lifestyle vehicle first that does some truck things. If you place more emphasis on doing truck things, I think you will be disappointed.
This is the best answer

I'll haul a dirtbike, make some dump runs, etc with my Gladiator but I'd only tow in an emergency or if something was super small. I've owned 2 Gladiators now because they're Jeeps that can do some minor truck things, not trucks that can do Jeep things
