UPDATE: Dur, didn't read your holes were filled with bedliner. Not very helpful then I guess...

I see they answered your question, I had to do the same thing with a tap. Be carefull with how much torque you apply on the smallish tap or you'll overheat it and break it off. I sprayed WD-40 in the holes and went slow. Twist the tap back and forth when you start to get the bedliner scraped away from the initial thread then it went smooth.

I used to work for a bedliner company, Line-X. Sometimes we would have to tap a threaded hole after spraying a bed liner. We would put the tap in a drill and go full speed. We would tap a hole in about 10 seconds. Now, I'm not saying this was the best way or the safest and I'm not recommending it. But its what we did. :CWL:

I thought about doing that but the tap had a square drive and my drill had a 3 jaw chuck so it wouldn't have been secure.

I've got my bed LineX, and my bed rail holes are all clogged. I don't need them now but what I'd recommend is get the holes opened up with a counter sink bit so you can hand start a tap, and by all means don't put a power tool on it

Don't use a tap - you may cut the actual threads. @Hootbro is correct.
There's no need to use any tool other than a thread chaser.

A tap is risky, no matter how you start it, because the bed liner can be hard in itself. People have "cut the threads" using a tap, instead of cleaning them.

You don’t have to do any of that stuff. Just remove one of the screws from the tailgate and chase all your holes with that, then reinstall the screw and you’re set. I did all of my holes this way when installing my bed molle

Factory bedliner?
Mine was hard as a rock. Rounded screw threads.
If a person already has a thread chaser, there ya go. Maybe I have more taps, dies and chasers, though, so it's not a problem here.

Factory bed liner 👍🏻

Had no problem pulling out the first screw I tried, so there was no reason to try any others.
