So, I am scheduled for this weekend to get my truck tinted. The back doors and back glass are just the factory tint.
What percent could I do on the front doors to blend pretty good?
I am also trying to decide if I want to do the front windshield or not. Thoughts on that? If i do, I am looking at maybe 50%. I am torn on doing it, as I dont feel that I see the best at night sometimes with the jeep lighting.

Any pic examples would be greatly appreciated. Yes I have searched here and there, but not found too too many pics.

50% to me is pretty minimal.

Tennessee lets you go down to a 35% tint. I would think that you'd probably be happy close to that.

If memory serves, the factory Jeep tint on the rear doors is somewhere around 20-25%. Unfortunately it's not legal for you to do that on the fronts (not that you can't...)

I went with 25% Llumar ceramic up front and to my eye it looks like an exact match to the back. This was recommended by thte tint shop that does a lot of jeeps when I mentioned I wanted as close of a match as possible. As noted above...up to you to determine legality and your "comfort" with possibly being hassled by the police in your area.

I went with 35 on the front sides and am happy. It's not quite as dark as the back, but I can still see out to the side when backing. I don't like having to roll the windows down to see the side mirrors when backing at night. If I was to do the front, I would do 70.

I'm an odd ball and prefer Llumar 80 Blue tint on the windshield. It will make the rest of your windows slightly darker as well.

I'd go 32-35% on the front, factory on the rears, then 80 Blue on the windshield.

I got 35% on the the four doors and 5% on the back glass. The 35% was what the dealership did. I had the 35% stripped off the the back glass and I had it done 5% at my local shop. In NC you can do the back windows and back glass as dark as you want but the front 2 have to be legal 35% and none is legal on the front glass. I've been in a vehicle with 20% all around including the front glass, it.was pretty darn hard to see out. My 2017 mustang had 5% done all around but none on the front glass and i had to roll the windows down at night to see out the sides sometimes. I'm thinking about going to 20% on the 4 doors eventually but I wouldn't personally go any darker if you want to be able to see at night l, especially if you are considering doing the front glass.

Here's a picture of mine

Also for reference the BMW 440i in the picture has 20% on the side glass and 5% on the rear glass.

My front are 35% and here’s a few photos at angles to show comparisons to back factory tint. I think it blends well.
I personally do not like Sting Grey at all, but yours sir is quite bad ass!

Thank you! It was not my first pick either(wanted Punk'n), but it gave me a good base to use orange at least. Hopefully next time I am in market they have a bright color I like - the gray is a love/hate with me. Changes based on lighting.

I've been going 20% on my last 3 vehicles, which should be a "perfect" match for the factory rears on Jeeps. I really like it during the day time (especially summer). Noticeably cooler on the arm than the 35% we did on my wife's Yukon.

But... night time can suck with the 20%. I often need to put my window(s) down to see as well as I want to in certain situations (unlit intersections, backing into my garage, etc). But to be fair, the 35% can be difficult at night too - for me its right on that edge of not needing to put your window down though.

My tint guy told me that doing 50% on the windshield and 35% on the doors would give the external looks of about 20%. I considered trying that, but worry that every time the windshield cracks, I then need to get it re-tinted... and... windshield tint tickets are a separate ticket. So you could get a ticket for both the sides and shield in one stop... 😳
