Diesel Oil Filter Housing Part

Does anyone happen to have a pic if their diesel filter housing? I need to know if mine is normal again. The black plastic piece in this photo popped out during my last change. I found it and a little spring, put them together and popped it back in. Now it crashing my filter a little. Maybe normal and I never noticed? Can't find info on it and tbh I don't even know what its for.

Hmm, based on that pic, mine is too high up. Hope im not missing a retainer of some sort. It didn't look like one would fit in there, but my won't push down like the one in the Pic. I'm not a fan of my filters looking crushed like that.

You have to suck out all of the oil where the filter sets to see if anything is in there.

The oil filter should be properly seated in the housing cap. Did you buy a Mopar filter? The Mopar filter comes with the cap and filter.

Yeah, I only use the Mopar ones from either the dealer, mopar.com or diesel filters online to ensure I didn't get a knock off.
