Idk man your truck is pretty sweet
would you stay with an overland or step up to a Mojave/Rubicon?

would definitely take off whatever mods you can. Either add them to the new truck or sell them if the new truck already has them. When I traded my 2020 Rubicon I left everything on that I had added. I lost my ass so bad in mods. Should have never traded the truck for a ram. Huge mistake to begin with. Live and learn, back in a gladiator but couldn’t swing the rubicon again with price increases etc.
My first, and gut instinct says stick with Overland. For one thing, the Rubicon to get the exact same "luxury" things would have to be pretty well loaded making it thousands more. It would put a Rubicon out of reach with all of the comfort things (at least that is how it looks messing around on the build your own Jeep site)
Every Rubicon I've seen that was even close was more expensive and that makes sense as it's got the lockers, sway bar disconnects, etc. - that adds money and being in Iowa the chances of me ever needing or using either is pretty slim.

So, likely go back Overland. I know the ride, I know the abilities, the MPG factor, and that an Overland will easily tow my 5,000 pound car hauler with car loaded.

Yes, I am seeing you and many others suggesting "take off the mods" - and I'm likely to do that. Since only some of the mods are seen in pictures, no one would even know about some of them without comparing part numbers (springs, etc.)
All of the take-off parts are like new as most things were done in the first year.

If your wheels and tires are something you are wanting to keep, just tell them when you work on the trade that they can have the wheels/tires off the new one and to put yours in their place. Most dealers would love to have brand new tires on a used vehicle they didn’t have to pay for though they’d have to swap TPMS sensors, but let that be their problem.

I tend to agree with what’s been said, I think the price increases will continue drastically and we’ll never be able to get these again for what they are selling for now. Id say if you can find the right deal and it’s what you want, spend you a day stripping your old Jeep of everything you want to keep and trade that sucker in.
The only issue may be the TPMS sensors in my current wheels/tires may not work with the new truck. I have to suspect the new TPMS sensors may be backward compatible and work on my truck.......... but that's speculation.
Looks like the wheels are identical so I can't see any dealer balking at a tire and wheel swap - they'd get all new on a used truck, like you said.

SP, is there anything you really regret about your JT? Color? A factory option that you wish you would've had? A different gear ratio? Soft top instead of hard top (or vice versa), etc? A 12K bump to jump to to basically the same vehicle (albeit newer and less miles) and then have to re-mod it to me doesn't sound worth it.

I had a 2020 in Sting Grey and I went pretty stripped down. Was ok for a year then having no power windows or power door locks started to get real old. Also, kinda fell out of love w the color. Lastly, wasn't too happy w/ just the upgraded Rubi spring/shock/spacer lift I put on it. Fast forward a couple of months and I got offers from Carvana, Vroom, etc that were in excess of what I paid for it by a couple of grand. For me, at the time, it was a no brainer. I was able to order a year newer model with the factory options I should've gotten in the first place in a color I've always liked in a truck (white) from Gupton down in Tenn. for just a little more than what I paid for my original. I totally fell into a great opportunity more by luck than skill, but so glad I did. Also, put the size lift on the second one that I should've put on the first.

TL/DR: Bought one then later regretted a few things about it. Sold it, got another with the right stuff for only a few more K out of my pocket. Gonna keep this one for awhile.

I've not got a whole lot of $$ in the mods. I did it all over time, and the longest effort was likely the spring swap, or maybe the front bumper and winch, but having learned the first time around, the second time would be less involved and take less time.
Some things I could do as I got time, no big hurry, like the latches I installed for the tonneau cover to prevent it being opened with the tailgate locked.
My bet is I could put things back into a new one in a day. Hood struts, for example - a 5 minute install. Bumper-mount LED backup lights, maybe 30 minutes or so. Fog lights would stay in the bumper. I think the spring swap would involve the most time - but maybe I'd do something different next time around. Maybe different front springs instead of the weaker of the Rubicon springs plus spacers, for example.

The option I'd add now is the full time transfer case option (Selec-Trac).
Like my wife said - considerations are starting over with 0 miles, starting over with full warranty.
I might consider the Gorilla glass if it helped payload any since it's so much lighter than standard glass.

A lot would depend on the "Deal" - the difference in value of mine in a trade vs. what I could get a new one for. I'd be buying back the wear/miles and depreciation.
I've not heard back from dealers so likely no one is interested and that may decide it for me.

Personally if you like the current rig then I would say keep it and purchase an extended warranty with a Mod-Friendly dealership and make sure the warranty shows an up charge for lifted vechicle. Otherwise you'll have a warranty that in the end might get denied. Just my two cents. I've traded vehicles so many times and I can always come up with a "good" reason Lol! I just traded my gladiator for a wrangler but I didn't want to. And I'm still frustrated about the ordeal. They could never get mine lined out. Had the rear axle seal issue and a weird clunking noise from the rear end.

That's option number 2 if I can't get into my price point.

Mine is considered lifted? With max tow rear springs (which are shorter than Overland springs) and Rubicon front springs? Or maybe it's the 3/4" spacers?
If I put a blade on the front I'd likely have to consider difference front springs.............

Strange that you can get a sales tax credit on a lease turn in.
On a trade in, they treat a lease the same as owning or financing.
Leasing a vehicle means you still own with a balance due.
If I traded in a financed vehicle, they factor in the balance due on the vehicle as it applies to the trade in offer.

I could have paid off the lease and traded it in, really no difference.

Or try diesel Sport front springs.

One thing to consider, and I don't think this is a deal breaker, but the price of a used vehicle is dropping quickly as new inventory is becoming available.
What people were getting 6 to 8 months ago, has changed by about 15% to today.

You have a very nice Gladiator, but the one big advantage is going back to 0 miles and maybe getting something you wish you had now that you don't.

We see a ton of users on the forum that started with one Gladiator and traded in for another. Some more than 2 times! This comes after having the time to evaluate a new model and gain experience.

We all know a lot more than we did from March 2019 when the first Gladiator's were hitting the streets.

Very well said and thought out.

As far as your last sentence - that should get you 10 likes at least just on that. And just on my own, I have learned - would I do the exact same mods in the same way today? Hmmm, I'm rethinking things like the front springs, for example. I know more now.

Well said. Solid thinking.

I went a completely different direction the second time around, because now I’m able to due to my base going from a Sport to a Mojave.
The SelecTrac was my kicker, I gave up my Gator to get it. When I was “shopping” I drew my line in the sand at that being the only trade off I would lose my color over. I have missed the Auto 4WD ever since I traded my Laramie in, it was fantastic in sketchy situations where part time 4wd wasn’t warranted, but a little slippage was going to happen.

Lately, I base new vehicle decisions on the fact that life is too short. And, many times a healthy, mobile life is even shorter. I have had several friends who died in their 40's. They didn't get to experience what I consider a full lifetime.

If I can afford a new vehicle without it changing my life in a drastic manner financially then I buy it. Sure, sometimes I loose out to depreciation but vehicles are my hobby. To me, its really no different than someone who buys expensive alcohol and consumes it. Or those who hang out in bars and spend their money there. Or going to a casino to gamble. Its what they enjoy.

I look at it as it may be the last new vehicle I ever buy. Because, it may be. If you have the means and it won't put you in a hole financially on a day to day basis, go for it. Enjoy life because you only get one go around.

This is a much more eloquent way of saying what I wanted to say earlier but just deleted instead 😂
Life is too damn short to die with a bank full of money and have had less enjoyment/no good memories to flash before your eyes.
