I am especially happy with my Curt Echo because it showed me that my JT brake wiring had failed and troubleshooting led me to a blown fuse.

Driving home from 4 wheeling, I felt like I was getting pushed by the trailer. I also noticed that when I was hitting the brake pedal, the Curt Echo App was not showing the Blue line going around the orange circle. So I started manually braking the trailer with the app and the O-Shit button and had zero issues and could feel the trailer dragging the JT. That confirmed that the Trailer was working fine and made me look into the JT.

I picked up the following to help with my troubleshooting.
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001EOWQY4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

I found that it was a fuse and the problem is solved.
But I feel like the way the App works with the Curt Echo allowed me to figure out I had a issue before it became a larger issue.

I've used the Tekonsha Prodigy RF wireless for a few years noe. The controller mounts to the trailer and there is a handheld brake controller for extra braking power. The beauty of the system is that there is no wiring required. The controller on the trailer works even if the controller isn't plugged in. It just uses the last setting. Trailer plugs into box, box plugs into truck, controller plugs into 12v, done. Since the main controller is mounted on the trailer you can use it with any vehicle. Jus hook up trailer and plug handheld into 12v.

Nice thing about some, such as the Echo, you can have profiles, so if you have a boat, travel trailer, utility trailer, or any other assortment, once you get them set to work right with the weight of the trailer and contents, you can switch back and forth and not have to re-dial in each trailer.

Informative thread and is obvious that ordering a tow package doesn't provide the brake controller. With that noted, has anyone used/installed the Draw-Tite i-command proportional brake controller? Will I need to have dealer flash the truck so that it knows its installed?

If you already have the towing package, then everything is already activated to send brake, turn signals running lights etc. to the 4 pin and 7 pin connectors.
The Brake controller is 100% separate and has zero integration with the computer.

As such, you will not need the dealer to flash the computer to activate anything. All you need to do is verify that the drawtite can plug into the gladiator harness properly

I started with the echo. It worked great. I don’t love having to use my phone with it. You need to have your phone mounted so you can see the screen and access it. So, I preferred not having to use my phone. Otherwise it’s a great controller, with lots of features.

I ended up buying the mopar controller, just because I like things looking stock and not needing my phone. It does look stock, although plastics are cheaper than stock knobs. It looks clean and works.

I kept the echo as a back up and figured it works great as a portable controller. Just in case I need someone else’s truck to tow something. Because, you know, it’s so often we borrow other peoples trucks to tow large loads.

No, there's no integration. The wiring is in place on all Gladiators. Even with no tow package, believe it or not.
Install, connect, use.

The toughest part for some might be locating that connector by the left kick panel where your left foot sits. it's taped to a large wire bundle there and the tape around it almost hides it, but it's there.

I have a dead pedal to install also, so the kick panel has to come out for that. Will do both at the same time, at least that's the plan.

You may be right and I would not be surprised if Curt or Tekonsha is making the guts of the Mopar. I have not used the mopar one so I am not sure of its operation and if it has inertia sensing (does it?). I worked as tier 1 supplier for Jeep for 8 years and see the cost/feature cut on almost every option they can. I am a bit more skeptical than most I suppose.

Hey Gang,

I've got a 2022 JT, and a Mopar TBC, and the plug under my dash does not match the controller module to be mounted under the dash :/

Is there a harness that can adapt this? Potentially the Redarc TPH-022?

Should’ve came with a cable to go between that plug and the control box. It’s the cable on the right.
