I just installed this today. Noticed the gaskets available online are all the rubber kind. The OEM one has a metal plate with the gasket on it so I reused my original gasket.

Looking online I see this on Amazon. Is this something we can use?

Link below is the newer style gasket that came in either late 2021 or early 2022. There was no clean cut in. It replace the older style of gasket because it was more prone to leakage.

Sounds like you reused the older style gasket but I would not say jump to replace it. Just monitor it for leaks from time to time and next pan drop and filter change, go to the newer style gasket.

As mentioned, Filtran is the OEM for the filter but I also would not sweat it if you used an aftermarket either as the filter is just a rock catcher anyways.

Thank you @Hootbro!

Will the filtran fit the PPE bolt locations?

The filtran is thd factory OEM filter . And yes it fits the pan bolts perfectly. The gasket get from @AllMoparParts.com . They are great to work with offer a small shipping discount to us forum members and I have ordered well in excess of 1000.00 worth of stuff off them and shipped fast and correct.

That's been the case since about forever. Remember the brass screens? Even some of those "fluffy" filters didn't really do much. ATF isn't like oil in that respect anyway.

Dads 78 1 ton had a "fluffy filter" he would clean it with brake cleaner and resuse it 1 time before replacing it 😂

If the PPE does not use the factory filter that will give the dealer a good reason to deny warranty if the trans ever fails.

Why those are for BMW AWD cars . If your wanting an aluminum pan. Buy the PPE for the JT gladiator and get your gasket and filter and fluid. PPE has their own filter as I understand it . Order it when you buy the pan. Use Chrysler 8&9 speed fluid.

Why// because it was engineered for this trans by BMW for the M5's. Uses the stock gasket which it comes with and has 3 huge magnets attacked to the filter. Plus huge fins for cooling.

I have a diesel..so not a issue. PPE pan will not result in any cooling benefits..from reading countless threads and personal experience on other trucks. BMW forum threads results do show a few degrees benefit. BMW uses this pan on its racing M5's for a reason.
