Think yours is the second or third one that has been reported to fail.
Actuator or turbo? Guessing you’re referring to actuator. I’m surprised it was the actuator given that I was at cruising speed when my dash lit up like Clark Griswold’s house.

Yep, the actuator.

Finally picked up the Jeep on Monday!
The turbo actuator had gone out so they had to replace the turbo (which they had in stock!) and all the gaskets (which they had all but one and it took weeks to get). While they were doing the repair, they noticed the diesel particulate filter had a small crack - they had that in stock and replaced that as well.

I sat and talked with the Tech for a bit and it is crazy what they have to do to access the turbo on these - the whole cab has to be lifted in order to access. He said he’s done 4-5 of these now for the same reason. So while I’m happy I wasn’t his first kinda unnerving to hear it’s a “common” issue.

There were no warning signs prior to it going out - was cruising along about 75 (at a slight incline but don’t think I was over 2000 RPM so it’s not like the engine was firing hard) and I immediately lost the “umpph” and the dash lit up.

Let’s hope it’s good now. I had a fuel rail engine code that the dealership resolved about a month prior to this issue; I don’t know if that could have been related to it somehow but I doubt it.

this just happened to me last week. Same issue the actuator went out and they have to replace the whole turbo. I was shocked when they told me they have to remove m cab...
Mine is still under warranty, lucky as they told me this is a $12k job. They also said that after they replace the turbo they will give the turbo a 100,000 warranty - which is good as I have 47k miles on a 60k mile warranty.... I had the same issue, was driving up the grapevine at about 75 so a little load and it went out. I called the dealer who told me to pull off, then turn off the engine for 5 minutes, then restart - I did and the "low power" (red lightning bolt) light went off - engine lite was still on - but the truck ran fine.

The dealer also told me if the restart didn't work you could perform a "pedal restart", put key in run position, slowly press pedal all the way down taking 5 to 10 seconds, slowly release pedal taking 5 to 10 seconds, urn off the ignition and wait 10 seconds (but I would wait a minute) then restart and let it idle

The truck did it again when under a slight load - but turned off and restarted again the light went out and it ran fine all the way home, 400 miles - then took it to dealer.

  2. FCW unavailable
  3. service electronic throttle
  4. stop/start unavailable
  5. service electronic stability control

  7. OBD2 code P206D
