It's different down here in Virginia ;)
I personally know the owners and all of the employees.
They typically treat me right, and most of my questions are answered via text.
we live in same same state bro. I went to OHIO to get my truck not just cus it was factory ordered but because I didn't like how sleazy the sales reps were. after 3 different dealer attempts. I went online researched the best dealer in the country to factory order from and it ended up being the one closest to the plant gladiators are made in. Toledo. quickest most painless dealer experience of my life. 20 min in and out. sign and sign, money cleared, quick walk through and bye bye. My closest dealer has scratched the shit out of my truck somehow when they were only supposed to change the parking brake. Cost me 1200 in paint correction. And they took 3 month to replace my soft top and installed it wrong. I had to buy a new one out of pocket and installed it the right way myself. The dealer in Norfolk did a complimentary oil change and didn't tighten the drain bolt. I pointed it out when they brought to the front for pickup and it as pissing a stream of oil. Not saying all dealers are bad and I have had good interaction. But its too close to 50/50 for me to say it was worth the headache at any point.

Something else to consider. With a swap, you’ll get a factory 392 without MDS.

I’ll eventually turn it off and replace the lifters on my wrangler when it gets up there in miles.

That's where I bought mine. They are one of the top Jeep dealers in the country. Good people there.

I thought maybe you bought from Grogan's Towne because they are a little closer to the factory than Yark.

My situation is very similar to yours I have pondered this scenario many - many times.
Let us know where you end up - many of us are sitting at the edge of our seats drooling.....

I know @PuddleJumper has done alot of research and has tons of good info...
I have decided to go with the swap, I just have to fit it into my time/budget.
I LOVE my truck and I'll have it forever.

Just my two cents it all depends on what you are going to use it for. I have a 22 JTRD and my wife has a 23 JL 392. The JT we are building it out for overlanding and rock crawling to be able to go anywhere and do anything. The 392 will be built to do mild rock crawling. The 392 is a nice car but I believe some others have mentioned that the transfer case on it is locked in 4wd which has been known to cause issues. In my wife's the service 4wd light will randomly come on and when it does for whatever reason it also affects the steering and it becomes very hard to steer. We did have it locked in 2wd using a tazer but with it locked in 2wd it wouldn't let us us the lockers and it took us a minute to remember that we had it locked in 2wd so after that we left in 4wd. I don't think you can go wrong with either one it's just more about personal choice and which body style is going to suite your needs better. I also have two GSD's which is one of the reasons I have the JT so all the hair stays outside the cab.

Howdy y'all. I haven't been getting notifications on this post, so I apologize for the lack of attention.

After packing up and heading out to OBX from Cincy, and other lifestyle considerations/adventures, swapping the JTR is the way for me vs. a 392 Wrangler. The cost is essentially the same as if I were to buy a 392 'Gladiator' if available. My JTR was 54K (in 2020), the swap will run me...a lot. It's not all apples to apples, but good enough for me. Additionally, I am kind of emotionally attached to my JTR for some odd reason.

I wish were capable of doing the swap myself, but I do not have the space, resources, or time...and I trust the people at HighLift Off-Road https://highliftoffroad.com/ much more than myself for a pretty important process. That said, I'm happy to share the process and answer any questions, but it will mostly be from Highlift's social media (if documented) since they are doing the real work.

Anyway, yeah...it is expensive, but I highly recommend NOT riding in a JT or JL with a 392/Hellcat/LS or whatever if you are not planning on going for it–unless you are a masochist. Going back to the 3.6 is somewhat heartbreaking although it is a very capable and reasonable engine.
