Don't judge to harshly. This was my first time building a sub box, or really anything out of wood(I much prefer metal). It took me way longer than I expected and didn't come out 100% perfect but I think it's good enough.

Built from 3/4 mdf, houses 2 kicker L7T 8" (800w RMS total). Internal seams sealed with silicone caulk. Outside coated in raptor liner.

Looks great! :like: What are the dimensions of your box (height at the front/back, width, depth)?

Seriously Judge Harshly.... That looks great. The only thing you could of possibly done to make it look any better is covering the box in matching black carpet. Otherwise nobody would even be able to tell thats not OEM in there.

Damn! Nice work. I've been an installer for most of my life, and that looks amazing. Very nice fit, neat and orderly amp rack, and you went way beyond normal box building with your curved corners. I see a potential money maker for you, if you decide to replicate it again...

Guys thanks for all the compliments!!!

Maybe it's my OCD but I wish I did a bit more smoothing with the filler before i coated it. I expected the bed liner to be a bit thicker and fill in the Brad nail holes on top and smooth the front edge transition a little more
That being said I wanted the look of the bed over carpet

Incan remember exact dimensions off hand but it was something like 9" tall front 6" rear and 45" wide

Definitely won't be doing this again for money...:CWL: took me waaay to long to be worth it (or want to )

Looks good Can you explain how you have this wired. Looks as if you have the sound bar and fronts powered through the amp. I want to do the same but not sure what wires to tap into. also did you have the premium or standard system.

I have replaced the entire sounds system, I didn't tap into any existing wires.

Running Insane Audios head unit, hifonics 4ch amp to kicker components in the dash and sound bar(100w RMS per channel)

Ive been eyeballing the Insane headunit. I can’t seem to find details about how you hook an amp up to this headunit. I think I would like to run factory speakers powered by the Insane headunit internal amp and add an additional amp for a sub just to get a little more bass. Is it pretty straight forward to just add an amp to the unit? I’m imagining some sort of connection already dedicated for an amp coming from the headunit....

I’m not an audio guru at all. I’ve replaced factory speakers in the past, but have no experience with headunit or amp installs. Thanks!

Modern amps have voltage sending from a high level input. I'm running a Rockford 750w amp and I just tapped into the speaker wires by the passenger front seat pillar. Took 2 minutes. I soldered them to the wires by stripping the jacket back and heat shrinking. Works fine then just run a battery + wire and your done. For the - I used the Jack mounting bolts just ground it smoothe.

This is with factory head unit. With the insane audio it has rca out you run front to your rear amp along with a remote turn on lead.

One more question....which components did you use? Did you do the 6.5 upgrades to the dash and sound bar?
