So JL/JT owners, do you still have the ability to mount the front panels with the rear roof removed? I can do it on my JKU and its a handy feature.

Handy feature how? Take whole top off, starts to rain, just cover front seats so you don't get soaked?

Like any top off operation you need to watch the weather and be mindful if you need to bring your prefab plywood shanty with you.

In my case I like it when I need to go do truck stuff in the summer, a good source of shade for the driver while still basking in that open Jeep airflow. Imagine the look with rear half doors.

Every time I do it someone in a jk stops me and asks what and how and I’m all shocked and confused that they don’t know. They look at me with wonder like they discovered the other station on their radio so now they can listen to both kinds of music.

What about the mesh/standard bikini top? It’s like 150$ and you still get that open air feel.

I never did that with my 4 door wrangler - I always took off one or both of the front freedom panels. Now I'm gonna have to experiment! Like this! Thanks!

Make sure you flip the little plastic “feet” down so they are spaced properly when you tighten them down. Enjoy!

Need to use the feet and the hold down bolts.

The mesh is nice but with the top panels on and the doors on you can turn the AC on too. Because what else do you do in a convertible other take the top out of the equation and then put either the the heat or AC to maximum?

Interesting. Didn't know this was possible...but I don't have the JT...and didn't own a JL or JK.

Personally think the rear section of the JT top should have come in 2 pieces - overhead and rear window + short sides.

Ease of removal, ability to store on-board JT while away from home, and to provide a hard bikini top mode.
