What's wrong with antiquated V-8s? Heck, have you ever heard a Ford Cosworth at full song? One of the winningest race engines of all time, and one of the 5 best sounds in the world!
In an Indy car with the turbo spooled up banging gears. Hell yeah.

Sounds like you’re ready to move on
No. I love my Gladiator and plan to keep it for another 2 or 3 years. My fear is the Gladiator available then will not be an improvement - especially drivetrains and safety, Too expensive for what you get and what will be available. Just that.

As a group Jeep owners are rather "conservative" and we have been forever fighting for a vehicle that maintains what other manufacturer considers antique or archaic designs features such as solid front axels. Those of us that use our Jeeps for the purpose it's designed want ultimate reliability and toughness because getting stuck 20 miles away from a cell signal in the middle of nowhere is highly undesirable. So highly complex vehicles full of soft parts and tech fluff are not exactly "it". As a matter of fact if I gave up my Gladiator I would probably start shopping for an old LR Defender with a Diesel engine as a replacement for my desert adventures.

We also want to look at a Jeep and CLEARLY see a vehicle that honors a history going back to the 1940s. And that is something Jeep has done an outstanding job of. If you park a new Gladiator next to a 1940s Jeep there is NO confusion as to lineage.

So at the end of the day I do not want or need something that looks or feels like another Taco, Nissan, Ford, Chevy when I pull into a parking lot... etc. I LIKE the way people walk by my Jeep and take the time to check it out. Don't see anyone doing it with any other type of "truck". I'll take my dinosaur for what it is and what it is NOT, and I'll be more than happy to pay for it to stay that way.

Anyone that doesn't feel that way, well, the Toyota dealership is THAT way 😎 °IIIII°
Jeep will sell the Gladiator as long as the numbers work; otherwise, the Jeep Truck Graveyard For a niche vehicle. Just sayin'

As a former Tacoma owner, Toyotas are boring and for boring people.

And even if the 4Runner gets a mid-life update before the Gladi, it will still be 10 years behind in tech and features.

Rather than Jeep investing in a modern Gladiator, we get "Special Editions" and the promise of an antiquated V-8 all for an overpriced mid-sized truck. As badly as I would like to replace my Glad with a future Glad in a few years, I suspect I will struggle paying Jeep prices for an old truck. What a shame!! By the time we get an updated Gladiator, the just released, all new 4 Runner will have a mid-life refresh. How about that perspective?!?
What is a "4 Runner"?

I am loyal, this is my 7th Jeep…. And I’m good ☺
Same. I’ve had 8, and have two currently. Couldn’t be happier with the brand.

Glad that your good!! But many people including myself feel like they can do a bit more. The current CEO BOB needs to get his head out of his ass and stop it with just new colors BS.
The ceo has been there for 5 minutes. They’re probably more worried about the average customer, so renegades and grand cherokees, etc, at least in the very beginning of their tenure. The limited edition color tradition has been happening for decades. And I happen to love it.

The last generation 4runner was only ~14 years old and still had a 5 speed auto until the new one so if Jeeps following Toyotas lead there will be no new engine option and no real improvements until 2033? Pass. I'll take an antiquated v8 over toyotas hybrid/4cyl garbage any day. Perspective.

I respect your opinion, but don’t agree. Solid axles favor off road capability instead of safety and comfort on the road. Removable roofs and doors serve no purpose but fun, and add significant cost. The shape has nothing to do with fuel economy or payload. They shape it like a jeep and know that it will sell. Short beds with no options for long beds like the competition. The only thing that makes it comparable is that it technically, is a truck. In my opinion. If I wanted a reliable mid sized truck for good prices, I’d buy a Colorado and choose the interior trim I wanted. These are marketed towards adventurers, not people that want to put 4x8 plywood in the back. Yes, I know you can. That’s why I mentioned it.
If I wasn't going to wheel it, I never understood the midsize truck market anyway. A parking spot is a parking spot. I park the JT in the same spaces I used to park my super duty and the same ones I park my company prius in. Smaller with worse truck specs, interior space, and only slightly better fuel economy and at comparable prices? Where is the draw aside from wheeling/ fitting on tight trails. If I wanted a street truck with mild off road ability I'd still be in a ram rebel. The thing got better fuel economy on 35s with the 5.7L even driven like I wanted to use all 400hp than the gladiator does on 37s by about 30%. Towed more, way more interior space, more payload, and it was almost $10k less msrp.

"We are suckers." = "We are car enthusiasts." There are millions of suckers out there like us.

I asked AI why Jeeps and other classicly designed and executed vehicles are so popular.

Nostalgia and Heritage:

Many people share a deep emotional bond with unique and heritage vehicles, such as Jeeps and V8 hot rods. These cars often symbolize a bygone era, evoking powerful feelings of nostalgia and a sense of simpler times.

Aesthetic Appeal:

Classic cars are celebrated for their distinctive styling and the artistry that goes into their construction. Similarly, Jeeps stand out for their unparalleled look and performance, offering a driving experience that is truly one of a kind.

Simplicity and Reliability:

Many enthusiasts favor the straightforward mechanics of classic cars over the complexities of modern vehicles. Although Jeeps have evolved beyond their predecessors, they are still regarded as having more straightforward powertrains and technologies. In this context, reliability challenges are often seen as less critical when a more direct and cost-effective solution is at hand.

Community and Identity:

Owning unique and heritage vehicles cultivates a vibrant community among enthusiasts, fostering a shared passion that strengthens their sense of identity and belonging. The Jeep brand, in particular, boasts a dedicated following that traces its roots back to World War II, continuing to thrive today with events like Jeep Beach in Daytona, where fans come together to celebrate their love for these iconic vehicles.
