How did your turning radius improve? Mine never rub.
I never had rub. Just that the Jt absolutely didn’t turn the same with the larger tires. Not nearly as tight as it does with 245 or 255s.

Too bad you’re in DE, I sold my take offs for cheap.
At this point I pretty much only use take off bronco 255/75/17 dueler ATs. Which thankfully are inexpensive and plentiful

I don’t quite understand that, but no reason not to believe you.

My Dueler all seasons were good tires for what they were. They were quiet and rode well and had good on road traction. I just couldn’t stand the look and I needed a little bigger tire for the beach sometimes.

Somehow, the bigger, heavier tires make it feel more stable and track better. I joke that Jeep engineers knew that most people put bigger tires on their Jeeps, so they design them around it.

What bronco? The sport? I didn’t think any of the bigger broncos had tires that small, but maybe the base model.

In case anyone was wondering I shaved about 86 pounds off my Rubicon by swapping to overland wheels and tires, amp research power steps and the sunrider top. Giving me 1010 on payload now….

JJ
I thought payload was already 1100 stock?

Bicycle manufacturers know people want lighter higher end wheels on bikes, but they don’t sell many bikes with high end wheels as factory options. They sell more bikes and profit more by decreasing prices by a grand or two. They design the bikes to expect those upgrades. Then they sell the high end wheels as expensive accessories. Jeep is likely no different. They could sell a ton of Jeeps with, for example, 2” lifts from the factory. They make more money selling mopar aftermarket lift kits.

My wife has a way for me to increase the payload of my truck. There's a lot more salads and fruits in the fridge........ I figure I can increase the payload of my truck by 25 pounds by mid-summer.
No wife to help me increase my JT payload but I'm working on the same system. ;) :like: :like: I've added back 17 lbs so far this month. Yesterday morning my DR. gave me a recommendation for diet changes to almost the exact diet I'm already trying to follow.
My JT lost 100-120 with bumper and winch, 300-350 with RLD Topper and RTT. Heck I known all the extra wiring and 100 amp LiPo battery has added 45 lbs. I gained back about 75 by removing double rear seat. At times I think about going back with stock bumper and cutting out for winch plate. Unfortunately the scale I had been weighing my JT on has been out of service for last few months. I figure I'm at 1000-1400 lbs. added gear n stuff. This I figure due to prior hauling 800 plus lbs of concrete bags vs current ride.
I did like the performance of stock tires and rims but not the lack of resistance to flats. Worked good in snow and wet pavement.

I believe the steering on my JL improved when I went from 285s to 315s.

Actually mine as delivered was 924 off the door sticker, after swapping everything went to the cat scale and reweighed full of fuel and subtracted that weight from max of 6450 and now sit at 1010…
