Well they would be more functional as a vent then the non functional factory hood scoop louvers, can't say on the lights , I already wonder how much reflection comes off cowl lights, these would at least move the glare forward.

My feedback is they are Fugly
Yeah I gotta agree. If I saw these on a JT I'd be like, dude, this guy needs to put down the parts catalog and find a better way to spend his money.

I think it is just a gimmick. None of the light is going to be projected to the ground. My two cents and I don't give change!

Yeah, like the above comments, don't do it, they look terrible. As far as hood glare, spot beams give little to no hood glare. It's all about the right light beam in the right spot. Spot beam or pencil beams above the hood line and flood, fog or driving lights below. You can get away with putting spots on a bull bar or brush bar on the bumper but I wouldn't put them any lower than about the middle of your grill to get any decent use out of them.

Here is our two sense if you want it

- two things we really hate about the rubicon: the plastic faux hood scopes and the plastic side vents. Everything else looks mean and rugged then you have these eyesores.
- The westin hood scopes, although not practical, give you a metal option that is easy to powder coat and get rid of the plastic.
- the lights provide about 20% more light than the standard headlights but have no true offroad use.
- these fall in the category of rock lights and what not, all cosmetic, to add some style to your jeep. Which is why we have jeeps, to make them our own. They are a good addition to any jeep if you like the style and are a solid piece so longevity shouldn't be an issue.

Holy crap I just saw the price. For that much you can have some decent lights that will provide.....well, light.

Let me toss this question out there...I’m looking for additional lighting but I still like to fold my windshield down (I have a motorcycle but have 2 kids under 3 so limited ability to ride) so pillar lights are out. I’ve heard so many complaints about light bars for wind whistle...so does that only leave bull bar lights as an option for extra lights? I agree with 1600 lumines the hood scoop lights don’t make sense.
