Mounting some step sliders on my brother in laws Gladiator and this bracket is kind of in the way. Anyone know what it’s for? Nothing attached to it. Was the same on mine but we were able to mount mine.

Well, it just “fell off”. Still, if anyone has any idea what it was, would probably be good to know for others.

There was another thread about this bracket. And it was in the way of the slider install. I believe they removed it too. No one knows what it is for. Think it just started to show up on the '23's. I know it's not on my '22 JTRD.

Interesting. Well, it’s no longer on this 23 either.

It's on my 2020 I picked up September 2019. Recently installing the bestop sliders I thought about cutting it off cause the bracket landed right against it. Ended up not needing to cut it.

It was on my 2020. When I installed my steps, the instructions referred to them as "alignment tabs," which had to be cut/ground off. Others have posted on other threads that these are just manufacturing aids.

It's a tire deflector bracket to help them better pass crash tests.
