I didn’t like the extensions because you loose the frame connection above. So if something happens, you could damage the main harness. I wanted to retain all factory service connections for strength. I did buy an extension as a trail spare, but haven’t needed it in the several years since doing this.
What do you mean you loose the frame connection dont they just plug in between the 2 plugs 🤔

Bottom of what ?
Local colloquialism 🤦🏻‍♂️. My bad. Bottom fell out means it rained its ass off, so the stuff I’d planned to do today went nowhere lol.

The sunrider is cool as shit (and seals very well hahahaha)

I gotcha...

Local weather guys say it and they also call a heavy rain a "frog-choker" . One weatherman once call it a "turd floater" but I think the only reason he got away with it was because he as been on the air since gas was 64 cents a gallon....the other news people just laughed and shook their heads, y'know, that "silly paw-paw" head shake.

On top of the frame is where the connection is made. When you add the teraflex extension that connection needs to lower.

Yep. Doing tie rod and drag link ends. Any tips for getting the drag link off the pitman arm? Pickle fork ain’t touching it. Can’t get a puller above it. I’ve tried mixing and matching tools. A ratchet strap. A demolition crow bar. Nothing is getting this darned thing off. Would penetrating oil do anything to it?

I used a pickle fork on my air hammer.

I just doused it in Kroil. I’ll give it a few to work its magic. I slammed the pickle fork until it was all the way in and it didn’t budge. Boot was toast so not worried about messing anything there up. I may end up just trying to get the pitman arm itself off if the penetrant doesn’t work.

Edit: KROIL TO THE RESCUE!!!!! I’ll stand by all my earlier statements on that stuff. It’s like a magic potion that makes stuck things get unstuck. Like crayons on a sized bolt it works every time. That was going to be one of my next moves if it didn’t work. Kids would be unhappy with me stealing their crayons but needs must.

Put a bungy around it . Then take a longish prybar and pry down on it and then wack the bolt of the knuckle it will pop out. Also can use a pry bar and an air chisel with pointed tip and use it right on end of the bolt she will give up her milk.

I scored some Motobilt molle panels locally off FB Marketplace this morning with their Hi Lift mount and two Rotopax holders and threw them on.

I had the jack and axe on the driver's side (for easy access) and wanted to do the same with the panel but a lot of trial and error with Motobilt's jack mounts (seriously over engineered) proved to be my undoing. I threw it on the cab side panel for now since that's the most secure and Future Steve will bolt the sides to the bed this coming week and maybe try and slide the jack over to the passenger side. The Dewalt bag has my recovery rope, fire hose tree saver, kinetic, hitch shackle and jumper cables. Other recovery gear is in the bins under the back seats.

(I now have 2 Motobilt Rotopax holders and a set of Hi Lift trail rail mounts for sale if anyone's interested. )

Finished adding a second set of USB ports to the top of the dash.
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] IMG_2851

Put the first set in last year and used the two ports for a Gopro and an iPad mini that runs OnX Offroad. After the last offroad trip we did, decided that it would be nice to have our phones more easily accesible (previously they would ride in the center console to charge). To make sure the hole for the charger is centered, I took a very small drill bit and drilled up from below just using my fingers. Only takes a couple of twists to punch through.

Then got as large of a bit as will fit in that hole in the webbing and repeat. Ended up with a good pilot hole. Tipping the windshield forward then let me drill down from above using a step bit to enlarge the hole enough for the USB charger to fit.

The gap between the two USB chargers has enough room for all of the cables that connect to the back of the Uconnect display to fold up in there. This is on my 22 JTR, don't think the MY24+ dash is anything like this. Finally a handful of temporary zip ties to control the excess USB cable before reinstalling the top plate of the rubigrid.

Went with the Quad Lock magnetic wireless charging mounts for both phones. Thing I like about them a lot already is that you can have the phone in either orientation, portrait or landscape.

Looking at this, it's a '24 model or newer? That's been a miss with Jeep since the current body style came out in '18. I've looked at the idea of doing that, as it's just USB connections behind the center console. Looks sharp.
