What did I do to my Gladiator? Let's see...........Took it through a drive thru car wash and broke the car wash. Before I went in. I asked the kid if I would have a problem with the LoD stinger front bumper. He said no. So I started in. Got to the point where the brush that comes down to do the grill, hood, and roof got stuck. The brush couldn't come up and over the stinger. It kept trying to lift the JT up. Then the whole car wash shut down with 2 cars in front of me and one behind me. Another kid came running up the side the and had to move the brush by hand over the stinger. Then restated the car wash. Don't think I'm allowed back with the JT.

I finally tackled the hood solar replacement. From the original Cascadia4x4 to the 2.0. My original was fine and worked great, but had a couple cosmetic imperfections. The company warranted its replacement with the new version. I had to carefully remove the old, remove the adhesive, clean the hood thoroughly, ending with isopropyl, then install new vinyl, 3m hook and loop, and the panel. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I thought I had the charge controller on hand, but was wrong. This has been sitting here for a year. I’m sure it’ll arrive next week or soon after as it’s in stock. But the hard part is done.

Took the passenger rear door panel off and replaced the door check with the mopar quick release version. The GREAT news is that it solved the door click 100%! The only slightly annoying thing is that the new style bracket is in the way of the tube doors. Loosening the bolt and rotating it allowed them to work normally. Small price to pay for no clicking. I’ll do the other three doors tomorrow.

When those quick-release came out, I was like, "Oooo, gotta have !!" But then I realized I wouldn't be saving that much time. I spin the Torx bolts out with a bit in my cordless drill; takes seconds. Then spin them back in with the drill. I've only taken my doors off once so far and I did start with the Jeep ratchet, then did the, "Wait a minute......".

Still like those quick-releases, though.

Then spin them back in with the drill. I've only taken my doors off once so far and I did start with the Jeep ratchet, then did the, "Wait a minute......".

Still like those quick-releases, though.

Agreed. I just wanted my clicking gone, and figured if I need to replace all four door checks, I’m going with the newest revision. I’m glad I did. They seem much beefier.

Get one of these and it's even faster. I don't need to open my doors to get at the hinge bolts and don't have to risk a scrape from the ugga dugga machine up against the paint, either. (I know its not impact rated but I'm not torquing the hell out of it either)

@WILDHOBO I really wish Cascadia made that panel for the Mojave hood. Their mount is far superior to the Lensun version. I'd have one already if they did. Being able to charge the battery while running the fridge would save me from having to lug around the power station.

Contact them. Even if they don’t have one specifically for the Mojave they may be able to give you a work around. Customer service there is top notch. They have a lot of options and as long as a solar panel fits into a specific spot it works.

Funny enough, I did right after making that post. I'll report back what comes of it.

I thought they did with 2.0, but I checked and don’t see it. You might call them. You’ll likely talk to an owner. They might have it on the roadmap. They’re great to work with.

Good point. I forgot about their universal panels.

I asked em about my Suburban and they suggested the using the XJ panels because of how the hood is formed. Makes sense. Still haven’t gotten around to it yet. Gladiator will be first, then the 4Runner, then the Suburban.

I’m all over the map on the jeep this weekend. Pulled out the old high performance gen 2 Starlink hardware and wiring. @ChrisNLA inspired me to switch to the mini. When I bought it, it was the only model that worked in motion. But now, I’ll take the lower power consumption, and regain all my under seat storage back. All this stuff was mounted under the seat.

Also finally swapped out my hood closure pressure switches. I’ve had them for at least three years. It took me an hour to find them, once I decided to try.
