Got bored so decided to play on the wood pile with my stock rubicon.

I did the same thing today. Super easy swap once I realized that I needed to flip it the opposite orientation then the stock one. Pretty straightforward since it only fits that way. I haven’t driven it at interstate speed yet, but the steering already feels way more precise and better weighted.
Follow up. I drove it on the interstate earlier. At 80 mph, it tracks way better. I like the slightly heavier weighted steering better too. Long story short, it just feels better and safer. It’s not a sports car by any means, It feels like my JKU Rubicon did minus the bump steer the JKU Rubicon got occasionally.

Started to put a 12v power plug in the bed. I didn’t go with the bed power option. Bought the plug off of amazon as others have. Marine grade therefore waterproof, however, I’m still going to seal the plate to the bed with some silicone. Also smoothed our and painted.

cutting: had to dremel out a good bit to make the plate fit. The actual template of the bed plug that comes with the truck is good to just trace out and cut from there. That will provide enough space for the flanges on the back side of each plug to fit without having to go back and make a series of cuts.

I do have the Aux switches so should be pretty easy to tap into.

here’s a few pics so far.

finished the job. Got the plug installed. This AUX switches and the way JEEP has them set up is money! The process other than the cutting was easy. Here is finished product.

Jeep Gladiator doing truck stuff.

Taken weeks ago before the “stay home” order. Getting materials for stay home project. These are 12 foot 5/4 deck boards. The hitch extension worked very well. I hauled 35 first load. No real issue and it didn’t feel light on front end, but I wouldn’t haul that many again. Next trip I hauled 28 and it didn’t squat as much. I used the weight spec from Menards to determine how many I could / should haul but think the boards weighed more, but no way to prove / disprove.

Hitch Extension can work in this mode or set up in the air for a cabover extension. It’s really going to be useful for wood, ladders & kayaks. Like the rear wings to help keep everything in place dude to side.

Nothing. Some good sized snapper swam by taunting me. Fished fresh water while in Atlanta and now adjusting to salt life. Still figuring out the bait. Shrimp ✅, worms ✅, squid ❎. All onshore so no boat fishing yet. Looking at trying kayak fishing in the intercostal in the coming months. For now it’s all from shore.

Well it’s 91° Today here in Texas So I decided to take the the 2 front tops off and go check out the progress on the truck . Plus I wanted to see the wheels I pick out and they mounted . I wish I could take the top off my super duty but it has a sunroof so it’ll work out OK well They got it back up on its feet and it’s running As you can see and they are getting ready to change out the bed the fenders the doors and all the other stuff that got destroyed in the rollover!

Took a road trip to pick up a set of 5 rims I scored for $400

Well that hit the pocket book, I couldn't wait and ordered 5 35 Falken MT's, new lug nuts and TPMS sensors.

So let's add another $1700.00 to that.

What the hell, It's only money and you can't take it with you.
