I opened the crate in the trailer, but need to get the parts upstairs a flight of stairs for assembly. The two main uprights must be 350 each, if I had to guess.
That’s a project in itself. You need a crane for the crane.
A sheet of plywood and rollers but pretty sketchy

I’ve looked at that crane every time I’m in there… love to hear a brief review.
Will do. I also bought some rubberized casters for the indoor project. They won’t handle a 1 ton lift plus the weight of the crane like the steel ones, but will handle the loads for this project. The steel casters can go back on once this is over.

Took it deep into the woods and found some iced over crossings, ledges, fallen trees, etc...
Really happy with how she drives and handles everything. Only used 4-Auto to disconnect the anti sway-bar to make the drive more comfortable.

hooked up the trailer, and went to harbor freight to buy a gantry crane. I needed a forklift, chain hoist, and come along to get it onto the trailer. Getting it into the house (you heard that right) to assemble and do the craziness I have planned should be bonkers tomorrow. The crate was about 900lbs.

I've considered that Gantry Crane for Canopy/RTT installation and removal. Also as an engine puller vs engine hoist. But, I would need for it to remain outside exposed to the Coastal Virginia elements and seasons.

Curious looking rack setup. I like it.

Then just put it in your living room. Totally reasonable. No one would think that’s crazy. I’m a sane person. See I said it, so it’s true.

Hopefully whatever you're planning to hoist isn't too heavy and just bulky/cumbersome. As the weight will distribute to the tiny patch under the wheel. You're probably fine, but that could be a lot of rolling pressure on your tiles and grout lines. PSI.

I can say with confidence you don’t want to leave that outside.

And gantry cranes are great for pulling engines, IMO.

Bulky, not exceeding 500lbs, so that’s not bad per four rubberized casters, plus the weight of the house of course, which exceeds the weight of anything I’m lifting. This idea totally snowballed into insanity. I’ll be happy owning a gantry long term, but this is nuts.

It’ll be in the garage after this is over. Good to know. Thanks. I bet they are rust magnets.

I love that they call them cranes. They’re just I beams on legs. The crane is up to you.

Picked up 2 Rubicon (m210/m220) axles (with my sisters JTR) with 5.38 Spicer Gears from FedEx Freight and dropped off to my mechanic. Replacing both axles after my Yukon 5.13 rear pinion disintegrated at 50k miles.

Retired . . . "Money for nuthin . . ."
First long road trip. 1000 miles in two days. We were really impressed how comfortable it was. Hit a snowstorm on the way, and it handled it quite well.

Thought I could fill up with gas for $0.29/gal but it was closed . . .

On the down side, got a rock hit at 75MPH. New windshield will be needed. Gladiator duck was not harmed. Any opinions on Safelite vs going thru local Jeep dealer would be appreciated . . .
