Make sure and repack the wheel hub bearings while your at it. Hub seal make sure its still good shape.
Edit : Oh hey @Janster those rims are 5 lug by change are they 5x5 127 ?? You could find some used Jeep rims and put on there for a matching look 🤣
😂. Every year, the bearings get packed and all the maintenance gets done.

OMG…I had to go out and look. They’re 5 on 4.5”. OMG, I just realized you could put them on a YJ!!! 😂

I’m going to need a full picture of the boat. I miss boating. :)
It’s just a little 17.5’ aluminum….I miss it too. 😞 We didn’t get out nearly as much last yer for a variety of things. I hope this year can be better.

Shoot - make sure you check the spare tire mount too, if your boat trailer has one.

My buddy took his to the lake a few months back and told me the spare tire mount jettisoned itself from the tongue where he then proceeded to run the whole thing over. Took out all the fender and step on one side of the trailer.

Said it was quite surprising to say the least 😂

Then, with further irony, he had a flat on the non hit side on a subsequent trip - after his spare tire and mount were gone.
Wow!! OMG…that sucks. The things that you never think of……

I have to check my jack /wheel (Fulton) every few trips. The only thing holding the wheel on, is 2 small bolts that act as a ‘set screw’. If those bolts come out, that wheel would go flying. We actually have a little ‘strap’ that goes thru the wheel and around the frame. If the bolts come out, the wheel will be tethered to the frame.

Good idea on the spare mount. It seemed solid when I removed the tire, but I’ll check it again when I put the spare back on. You can never be too safe… It’ll always be that one thing that you didn’t think you had to check….🙄

To weld aluminum or let someone else do it? 😆
Welding Aluminum is a hard, compared to steel. Thick aluminum is almost impossible unless you have a $10k welder. A friend who does it for a living, told me aluminum gets easier after your first five miles of welds.

It’s the middle of the the winter….weather is crappy & cold….time to get things ready for the spring. We’ve owned our little 17.5’ Tracker bass boat since 2017. Boat insurance renewed…Hull Registration…..submitted. License plate good till 2028. Fishing licenses good till end of 2026. Check, check, and check.

Trailer Tires are original…😳 8 years old…. It‘s time to get some new ones and hopefully prevent a catastrophic failure on the roadway. But wow… after 8 years, we had a little bit of wear on the inner edge. Glad we’re getting this done now.

Have a tire shop spin balance them, the tire shop told me that no body does that to trailers…don’t under inflate them, keep them at maximum recommended pressure and out of the sun, you’ll be shocked how much longer life you get out of them. I’m also a big fan of 10 ply trailer tires, more peace of mind while haul your expensive cargo.

I am working on that myself for my trailer during its Winter upgrades its getting. With the clearance mine has I am thinking I will do a under bed hoist style mount.

That’s a great idea. I finally just put it on top of the trailer, under the tent, when I decided I wanted the tongue space back for water. That’s where it was originally.

Shit, on lakes in the south, I see 300 hp+ bass boats all the time.
I believe it….. I wished we had that here.

Where I live, there ain’t nuttin’…… small electric only lakes. If there’s a body of water that allows unlimited horsepower, it’s a cluster phuck of stupid people. I avoid those lakes..…Unless I want some good video and entertainment. 😁You could wait in line for an hour before launching or retrieving.

The Susky River is huge - about a mile wide… but you’ve gotta know the water levels and where you’re going. There are rock formations just under the surface that’ll rip your boat to shreds. It can be 60 feet deep at one spot, and 2” deep only 6’ from you. There are areas you can walk across.

OH hell no.... It's only a 60 😂
I love looking at the sides of outboards, thinking, damn. 125 would make that hull barely touch the water. Just a hair more trim…that feeling is worth it.

I love waterways like that. To be able to go places others don’t know the route to get to.

My buddy bought a used 21' Blazer bass boat hull and hung a 300HP Verado on the back of it 😳

The only HP limit you have in Louisiana is your desire to live.

Gotta know where you are going for a whole different reason down here.

My buddy records GPS path when he goes out so he can find his way back. So many mazes from oil exploration.

Just a small example.
